I know it's a good thing and a long time in waiting, BUT at this current time in our democracy the Democrat's and Republican's are fighting like the Hatfields and Mccoys and don't expect them to help anyone right now at all.
This is what our Politician's are doing right now, NOTHING but Fighting between one another.

You're talking about legalizing (when this is only about decriminalization) but if you make it legal than uncle sam doesn't make money. So your wrong

If you decriminalize it and let states regulate it that's how they get the money. Not by legalizing.

I mean has anyone here read the legislation? What does it entail exactly we would probably know this by now because it would be in the legislation right ?

Half the stoners I know can't make a box of Kraft Mac. I highly doubt they will outproduce the demand.

I'm happy, but also sorta sad.
I liked the rebel attitude of growing guerrilla gardens against the law, telling the establishment to fuck off.
It was satisfying in a primal way.
Now what to do?
Cannabis consumption sanctified by the government?
Somehow I think when pot goes totally legal, & that is surely inevitable it seems, the simple enjoyment of filling the pipe/rolling the joint will never be the same.
I liked being an outlaw :)

It is legal right now to make (distill) your own liquor. You simply are limited to making enough for your own consumption.

Marijuana is no different. If you decriminalize it completely, then people will be able to grow their own; they would simply be limited to growing it for their own consumption, which is what the majority of people want.

The issue you see now in legal states like California is greed. What you have are people bitching about what it takes to get a grow license but that's only because they want to grow it to sell it. Or they grow 20 plants to sell but then say it's for their own consumption and cry like babies when the police don't believe them and ticket/jail them.

California has no issue at all with anybody growing their own pot for their own consumption any more than any other legal state does. That doesn't mean you grow 10 plants at a time for crying out loud.

Total decriminalization would be no different.

You're exactly correct with this thinking actually

The reason why legalizing hard drugs (not weed in this case) is because the whole scary stigma and rebellion attitude is lifted like a veil

And yeah a lot of people find that it's not the same for them. A lot stop completely. In places where drugs are legal, addiction is at it's lowest.

Just relaying what I was told from someone that is the head gardener for a commercial grow op. All these commercial grow operations cry nonstop about home grows and the black market, I imagine they have a powerful lobby now in DC.

You do realize that most laws are written these days by the industry that the legislation is meant to regulate, then they hand it off to their paid stooge in congress to introduce it.
