Wow, some of you are totally missing the point!

We've been trying for decades to get cannabis removed from the CSA, where it is listed in the same category as heroin. That is the one thing that has delayed all progress in prohibition reform. This MORE Act does that, as well as remove past offenses.

Today is the first time that this has been passed in history! Fucking celebrate already!!

None of this negative-nancy, mamby-pamby crap. Yes, the Senate won't hear it, boo fucking hoo.
Big cannabis will ruin it, no home growing, taxes ... Arggg! boo fucking hoo.

I have 42 plants at my house right now, totally legal, and I've never paid any taxes, so many of you guys are clueless.

With the United Nations removing cannabis from the international treaty, and now this today in the House, the long wait is almost over. :bigjoint:

I totally agree with the majority of what you are saying and it is definitely a reason to celebrate.

I also think we should be aware of the fact that big canna-business is already trying to eliminate home growing and your right to grow those 42 plants in the name of eliminating the "black market".

Maybe im being cynical but as the parent of a medical user I am a little jaded after seeing how the "industry" shifted toward pure profit as the recreational bills passed. Ive been in CA for 5 years and watched it happen. The whole free exchange of genetics and medical collectives that the entire movement was founded on was made illegal and pushed aside.

Know that I value RIU very much and think its a really powerful tool to help teach people to grow their own and be self sufficient. So thank you and I hope for the best for all of us and that true acceptance and normalization of the use of this plant is the actual outcome of this vote.

Hundreds of thousands (Millions?) of people alive today participated in the capture, kidnap, theft of property/liberty and torture of "weed criminals". In fact it's still going on.

If justice is to be served, there should be some form of "reparations" to the individuals fucked over by prohibition. It shouldn't come from the tax donkeys or the magic federal reserve money machine either, it should come from the individuals responsible for the crimes of assaulting and stealing from peaceful people.

It's ironic that government officials "pardon" alleged weed criminals, when the "officials" and their complicit evil / ignorant henchmen are the ones that committed the actual crimes against people.

Well what you're saying isn't a opinion it is wrong....

You're talking about legalizing (when this is only about decriminalization) but if you make it legal than uncle sam doesn't make money. So your wrong

If you decriminalize it and let states regulate it that's how they get the money. Not by legalizing.
Look to Canada to follow the money when it’s federally legalized........our black market (yes still a black market) is booming albeit the price has dropped by more than half ....... that’s good or bad depending on who’s side your on lol. I’ve pretty much stopped growing indoors now that I can buy a pound of top shelf for $750 a lb

It's up to the individual counties here in Cali. The county I grow in it's only a code violation for growing more than your legal limit. And enforcement is "complaint driven" only. so if you get along with your neighbors your cool, the sheriff ain;t out looking for pot. A code violation is like a fixit ticket with fines if you don't comply...lets just say i get along real good with my neighbors...:D
If I could I would love to be your neighbour JJ. :) love your garden :)

I'm happy as hell for you guys, I still won't be able to smoke, there's no way the feds will let me drive a CMV and have mj in my system

But anyways -

Well maybe they will actually someday be able to measure the intoxication levels real time as opposed to now ..... every time I get in my truck I take the chance of getting an impaired :(.

It breaks the ice and people will want it reintroduced if the democrats win the senate. I dunno how they would lose money by passing it though, the political insiders are the ones who will profit, the people here won't benefit economically, but will have freedom and that's more important than money.

There are things supported by large majorities and super majorities in America, this is one of those items and if the democrats win, it will be on their agenda along with the other low hanging fruit. Their plan is to leave legalization up to the states and it will split the republicans on a state level, lots of those racist good ole boys like to smoke dope too and pot has replaced moonshine in the south a cash crop. Besides its no longer a way to "get" the brown folks, most grow ops are run by white people.

it stays in your fat cells for 30 so they would have to be able to measure old medication versus new..it's not like a drug where there is a measurable half-life.

means a lot I think. all the stoners in GA (R and D) now know that if they vote for Dems in the Senate run off this might pass in late january.
Yep the way they want to do it, will throw it onto the states and the red states will have the biggest issue, it will split the religious loonies off from the good old boys, those racist who like to have a puff and there are plenty as we have seen here. Remember though, racism and bigotry are pathological conditions that cause people to fuck themselves (that's why they are pathological) in an effort to fuck others, so the numbers of converts won't be large, but it might be enough in many places. If you want to split the religious loonies off from the good old boys, pot policy is one way to do it, make legalization state level and let the mess sort itself out there. Meanwhile the federal restrictions will be lifted and the post office will probably carry pot, so it can be mailed, that means online dispensaries operating nationally out of legal states in a grey area of the law, where fortunes are made. If something is legal federally and in your state, you can't be extradited to a state where it is illegal.

now that it's passed The House where is it on the schedule?

and what you're saying is not passing The Senate doesn't matter?

you have 42 plants because you live in Cali..you may not pay taxes but other people do at dispensary for rec. Cali likes those billions brought to their state- so does Co..but you know, they still fight back.

I had a friend tell me that part of push to decriminalize-lower the schedule of it in DC will be to eliminate home grows if they can.
LED technology makes that harder to do, you can grow a real good plant with 20 dollar store LED 2400K light bulbs, just snap off the plastic light defuser to get 320 watts of KED grow light for real cheap. Most people won't grow though dunno what percentage grow in CO or CA, but it's probably pretty small.

Here in Canada it's legal to grow, but I have little difficulty under cutting the government dope prices by a lot, before legalization a bag of good pot would be around 200 an ounce, the government in NS charges well over $400 an ounce now from provincially owned liquor stores. You can get a bag of good pot from one of many illegal online dispensaries for $200 or less and the last thing they want are mail fraud issues and are more dependable than legal outfits! I bought from them online a couple of times out of curiosity and locally I bought a few grams of the government's best to see how it stacked up against my own grow, mine was better, but not by much and I charge $140 CDN, a little over $100 in gringo dollars...
