What's up RIU I have some questions about topping. I was wonder how many times you should top a plant at a single time to avoid stressing your babies? Any input would be great .

I personally don't worry to much about stressing the plant till its in flower.
As long as the plant has a week or two to recover after you top it before flowering top away.
I just topped two of my pandora's boxes the other day, went from 8 head per plant to 16 in one sitting.
So I topped 8 times for each plant, its now 4 days later and they are chugging right along.

good info bud i like to fim i got two plants with 6 heads and the rest with 3 and 4 but i only fim once through my whole grow, you can keep on topping if you want alot of shoots and to promote lower branch growth and to bush her up, but like bud said do it in veg state and give her a week to recoup before topping again, its all about trial and error

thanks for the info "fim" is basiclly the same idea as topping but instead of removing the whole top shoot you only remove 90 percent ? Whats the the upside of fiming instead of topping?

Top those 4 mains a few weeks later and you have 8,, Ect.

I fimmed for a while but had spotty results. When I top, they always get two more tops. I've topped lots of branches on a plant at one time while in veg and didn't have any trouble. It just ended up with a lot of tops. Now I top only once, then lst by holding each top down (after the two tops get taller) with fishing weights, one to the left, the other to the right. This is all during veg. Then in flower, after about 3 weeks, when it's about done stretching, I supercrop all the branches in multiple spots by pinching the snot out of them but not cracking the branches. It takes 1-2 weeks to recover from this, then puts up a bunch of colas.
