Nice rant.. but let's keep it DWC related in this thread
Yes sir Mr Moderator sir! I'm here to grow sir!Nice rant.. but let's keep it DWC related in this thread
Sounds like you have too much time on your hands if you're willing to wade through all of my old crap. Any specific questions you can pm me or ask them here. I'll help you get up and running; DWC is so simple it's hard not to succeed if you just know some basics.Yes sir Mr Moderator sir! I'm here to grow sir!
But in my defense you started it. Lmao.
Maybe I shouldn't have started my RIU journey with the Professor MJ Chronically eh? But that shit wassup like a train wreck. I couldn't look away.
So about that DWC. I've read all your posts here. Got all supplies. I think. Unfortunately I have a set back. Not grow related, pneumonia. So I'm taking a few days off to recoup.
Can't let it stop me though. So I'll read your journals and threads. So I can work up and inventory and outline the grow plan and post it here so you can week and mould it into bad ass bud making machine! That way when I'm healthy its grow time baby!
That's a good question. You'll get higher yields than soil for the same amount of time obviously, but ultimately yield is affected most by lighting/veg time. Veg time is more productive in DWC than soil, hence more yield.Hey im interested in making a set up like this because im a grower who is restricted to flourescant lighting. Im currently seeking ways to increase my crop yield without upgrading to a more heavy duty lighting system. Will this help?
Try turning your water pump off when the level corrects in the first bucket. Also see if there is a lowering option.Nice post VoidObject. I have a problem I hope you can help with. I am starting my first grow with a RDWC with four 5 gallon buckts. I have a 160GPH pump for the resv. with individual airstones in each bucket. My problem is when I turn the pump on the water level in the first bucket gets higher than the last bucket. I originally had 5/8th hose but upgraded to 3/4 inch hoses between the buckets and that helped but the first bucket is still higher. I have tried raising and lowering the resv. and also set it level. Is that pump pushing too much water? Thanks
can you say cycle timer? I recommend the apollo 12 by titan. also jbj makes an auto top off that works pretty good for controlling levels, personally I use a CAP ebb monster abd two big ass igloo coolers as grow chambers.Nice post VoidObject. Think about individual plant needs. Different phenotypes (even within the same strains.) If a plant dies, you're f@#$ed. Root binding is the most common issue with space but also you're going to have to train the plant or go small in a multi-plant single-rez.There are many pre-fabricated systems that do multiple plants per rez.. and that's IDIOTIC. For multiple reasons.. mostly root competition.
Yo void, whats idiotic about multiple plants grow chambers?
Yep and some people will still tell you to do multiple plants in one rez. They're just thick and stubborn =pThis is true. I use an 18 gallon with 4 plants, and the roots are growing into each other big time! It is a major pain in the ass even taking the lid off or opening up a corner of it to check ph or ppms. Man it would be nice to run 4 separate buckets or have some kind of divider in the tub I use. As for 8 in one 5 gallon bucket, I hope I am really baked and misreading that because I don't see how 8 plants in one 5 gallon bucket would be remotely possible, dwc produces way too large of plants with huge root sysyems.
Hell ya! Definitely "Sticky Icky!" Exactly what a noob needs. Simple to the point a chimp could set it up. Yet still a solid set up that looks like noob's such as myself can grow great medicine with it. Keep that advice flowing Void. I'm heading out today for the components. I will post pics or video of me setting one up. RIU rocks!I really like it & think it should be a sticky, any other hydro growers care to chime in ?
Try changing your setup around and have your pump push water into the middle bucket (having a t in the line pushing to 2 buckets if the pump is too strong) in the chain and disperse it, this works pretty good at keeping them even. Also as someone else pointed out a cycle timer is a good idea but pumping to the center works too.Nice post VoidObject. I have a problem I hope you can help with. I'm using organics right now.. and I have to recommend that you don't use them (or at least not Earth Juice in DWC, it's too thick. Way too much sh!t in there.. literally.)nice tutorial!
DWC is pretty fun, extremely easy, and cheap to start. I'm kind of a techie geek so I love messing with pH and EC and all that. if you're like me and you like to mess with your plants daily, SCROG is the way to go.
Nothing beats the taste and quality of organic, but DWC it is so easy and the DIY factor makes it even more attractive.
Say I have a 2x4 tent with 1 400W CMH light, how long would you suggest vegging two plants?Btw if you want max yield you're going to want to veg. How long should be dependent on your light(s).
