Greed! Greed! Greed! Holy shit Med ... is there anything of substance to your thinking?

And no ... I won't be seeing it your way anytime soon. "Your way" is walking down the road to serfdom ... and I won't be going that way, thank you very much.

Are you taking the greed thing to heart. Must be as it seems it's gettin to ya. If you have no excess greed then you must not be what I surmise. Hell maybe you can walk on water, I did it once!

Nope, not taking the greed thing to heart. And what the hell is "excess" greed? Is there a certain allotment of greed that's acceptable? Who makes the rules on greed and who passes greed out? As far as I know, greed, being the desire for self preservation, is a natural human trait. Other than making sure that that natural trait is positively directed, I see no reason to limit it, because the only way to limit a natural trait is through intimidation and force. That doesn't sound like freedom to me, Med ... does it sound like freedom to you?

No, That sounds like an opinion, An opinion from the point at which you percieve the world, There may be more than that opinion present in the universe 'O' great one!

Not opinion at all, Med. I've read history ... and I know how totalitarian governments, in an attempt to survive, try to limit or abolish human traits.

So, do you believe we have a totalitarian govt. in existence now? Or do you believe the Democrats will make it so?

I believe that we have traveled a long way toward totalitarianism ... and BOTH parties are at fault. The reason I say that the Democrats are the more dangerous of the two parties is that they are on the fast track to serfdom and the Republicans are on the slow track.

Its only inevitable if we continue as a country with an entitlement mentality.

Vi
Please don't take my social security and my meager pension that I feel entitled to, you would turn me into a raving well armed lunatic with a feel for vengence. Someone would die!

I agree with the totalitarian issue. Go left or right, and it is inevitable that totalitarianism will start to take centre stage. George Orwell recognised this threat about 60 years ago.

People want more freedom, not less... but oh, so slowly what freedoms we have left are being taken away from us.

As long as we have people, lobbiest, special interests all voting themselves perks from the public treasury, totalitarianism is inevitable.

Capitalism is one thing ... chaining the federal government to the Constitution is another.

Vi
I didn't mention a chain! lobbiest and government greed are authenticated by capitalism. a very devious form of governance, where the extreme few rule the downtrodden majority, Plutocracy for short!

But wait! Aren't unions a form of lobby? Why, one union even "earned" itself into a government department of its very own as a payoff for the support they gave Jimmy (The Geek) Carter. And that would be the Department of Education ... vis a vis, the NEA.

Unions have to lobby to keep up with the corporations wanting to expell them. My contention is to expell all lobbiest, even unions. Make the bastards in congress do their jobs without outside influence, their jobs, doing the will of the people! BTW, have you ever been wrong in your pitiful life, or are you like my dad who said he was wrong once and that was when he thought he was wrong? ~LOL~

Would that include the welfare pimps too?

It's kind of like a race-pimp ... except that they pimp for welfare funds. The National Endowment For The Arts would be a good example.
