I shelled out the cash for a HydroGen Pro, and it works just fine, also props to the guys for innovating new ways to cool our rooms, but I just saw this other unit on E-Bay for roughly 1/3rd the price, and I'm wonderin, hmmmmm...........same fuckin thing?

Can anyone tell me if you can see any difference with these products, or is it just another example of price gougin our wallets for anything marketed for home cultivation, Hydro, grow market, etc.....

You guy's (and girls!!), know what I'm talkin about.......................:evil:

Thank's for the links and info bro!! I just moved into a place with a gas hot water heater and boiler, and I was thinkin of doin this exact thing with the exhaust.

So, do you know if there's a dampener on that duct to keep the exhaust from comin through when the fan's not runnin?

Yeah man... any propane water heater works. You can get the larger ones with more flow for larger rooms. They claim to modify it, but I'm not sure.

To be honest, I don't mind having paid for mine. I like supporting companies who try to innovate. If I wasn't having fun or learning something I wouldn't be doing it, feel me?

I would consider using a motorized dampener to control CO2 using a boiler. I have never been lucky enough to have a boiler available, so I'm not sure if it'll pump out too much or too little... What if you are taking a bath during the night cycle for the room, will the boiler turn on? So on and so forth.

I use an agrowtek GC-C and love the logging function. I've just bought a growtronix and it too has the function. I would consider something similar so you can "see" what happens for CO2 levels throughout the day, not just when you are in the room.

P.S. Just looked at your e-bay links.
Those are NOT the same unit! The new Hydrogen does not have batteries and neither should yours. The Marley you showed did use batteries. I understand those have problems with ignition and re-ignition, dunno.
Wonder if the new Marley also does not have batteries?

Also, the flow is higher on the Hydrogen (I think) You Marey link is to a 5L. Check out this 16 liter. It's still battery powered, but you get the idea. I'm feeling lazy on the subject, so I'm not going to go look up BTU ratings to figure out what size the hydrogen is right now.

ok, I am usually just a reader on here, but this is too good!... I have been looking to buy a CO2 generator, and you just saved me like 500 bucks. So effing tired of changing tanks with the at the welding shop.

I bought one of those tank-less water heaters last summer, as I happened live in a off-grid situation. The unit worked Great!!, the batteries worked the whole summer, and the propane tank lasted half of the summer, at-least as a "water-heater". They gotta be similar because those units defiantly transfer a lot of heat to the water.

It will take me a week or two to piece this together, but I will report back. I have to get it out of storage, plus get a solenoid to actuate the incoming water line. I happen to own digital CO and CO2 meters, so I will report back on that as well. Now only, if I had an O2 sensor to figure make sure it's not burning all of that up... Maybe ill buy a canary or something. j/k

Thanks! That looks like the same unit Hydrogen sells, but I gotta wire my own plug.

I am a bit new to the generators, so I ran a little test using my coleman camp stove. I was expecting it to produce some CO along with the CO2; however not the case. I let the burner burn for approximately 3-4 minutes and my CO2 levels shot up to 1700PPM; meanwhile my CO monitor showed 0. It also shot my room temperatures up from 80 to 85; so hopefully the water heater is a bit more efficient. I wouldn't recommend doing this for anymore then a test, cuz seeing that open flame near my girls is sketchy.

^ As for the plug, buy a cheap extension cord at your local hardware store. cut the end off and use a wire nut to connect the two wires.

COOL, I have been looking at the tankless water heaters for some time and have been hoping someone would ring out some solid #,s . Im just not going to put out the dollars they want for there stickers and fancy shit. Peace 907

That place sells Propane and NG same $140 price shipped and tell me those don't look EXACTLY like a repackaged HydroGEN or AN model?! Only with the piezoelectric starter these are going to be MUCH more reliable.

Sourcing deals is a hobby, I used to get paid to do that but their loss is your gain.

Well im running a Triton on demand camp shower and it rocks. It doesnt put out much heat , if anything its needed for me to get my room to 80-83 degrees. Have 2 c0 detectors in 2 adjoining rooms and all is well . I can get 3 1/2 weeks on a 25 pounder of propane. I use a 27 gallon tuff tote in other room that sits by fresh air intake from outside. At the beginning of light shift co2 tote temps are around 45-55 degrees. I use a pump to supply the triton with water and then back to the tote in the other room. My room is only 8x8' so it only comes on for maybe 1-2 minutes at the most. By the end of a light shift the co2 res is running around 75-80 degrees, then it cools off during lights out. I could run drain to waste but this works for me . I got my Telaire co2 controller off of craigslist for 200.00$ and the Triton from ebay for 128.00 with shipping so Im pretty dam happy. Benn running great for 2 months now. Peace 907

This is one of the coolest threads I have come across. I knew when I saw a picture of a "grow room" co2 generator it looked familiar. Then when I saw this thread I was like. Son of a bitch, they are just putting a different shel on a water heater

Anyways, I was wondering how the liter rating on the water heater translates to co2 generation?

i used a marey 5l for about a year with very few problems. They do require a very powerful pump. Batteries were never an issue. Had to quit using it as it produced to much co2 for my space, 32 sq ft. I couldn't control it. I don't know what the liter ratings are compared to co2 output but the higher the capacity to generate hot water the more co2 is going to be generated.
