I have hated animals my entire life. Until last night.

Last night, I spent night at my brothers apartment. He his a pitbull/boxer mix, and a kitten. I've always told him that the dog was going to kill someone, and that it was irresponsible to even own it. I mean, I've seen stories where the dogs just flip out for no reason and maul people. Well, yea. Back to the story:

For whatever reason, I found myself sleeping in the same room as both of them (dog and cat). I was just laying on the bed, browsing the boards when the cat jumps up onto the bed, and kinda cuddled on my hand. I let him go, because he wasn't harming anything. Then the pitbull jumped up onto the bed too. I figured "what the hell" I'll just leave them be. Anyways, they basically curled up on me. It was so damn warm, I had the best nights sleep I've had in a long while.

Now, I want a cat. What breed should I get? :blsmoke:

Whatever you do, don't get a long-haired cat.
Grooming is a pain and removing anal cling-ons can be downright vomit-inducing.

Get a short-haired cat.

Good look on that one. I'm definitely wanting to minimize maintenance while maximizing the company. Like, a snake wouldn't be very good company if you ask me. But then again, I've never tried it.

saaay whaa?
how can you hate animals?

but get one of these...
It's hard to believe that cat originated in Canada. I would love to have one. Go to the ASPCA and get an American Short Hair type breed. A tabby cat in other words. If you have the time, get a kitten. We have about 5-6 cats inside and out and the last stray we got was a kitten. It has bonded to us so tight, it howls when my wife leaves to got out.

ive herd stories, but ive never met a mean pit. its such a shitty label as they are so cute. i have 2 rhodesian ridgebacks that look mean, but are just big puppys. cats kinda skeve me out if they are outdoor ones.

when it comes to animals their craziness really depends on how the owner is with them. if you let them run wild, then they are just gonna destroy everything. my cats are trained, when i say no they all stop what they're doing lol.

i wouldnt get a specifc breed when it comes to cats. for the most part those breeds are very finicky and require a lot of grooming and shit. just go to a kill shelter and adopt and short haired kitten that is about to be put down. i have 5 adopted cats.

i dont know much about dogs other than i would never own a dog bigger than a terrier. we had a jack russell named cujo and he was a wild pup but was too small to really do any damage.

Yea, I wanted a pit too, but then I was like "Ehhhhhhh, that'll look really copy-cat". Plus, I don't want to just jump into this thing right away. But I do want an animal, and would hope to get more if I enjoy it. I'm a runner, and it'd be cool to have a dog to wake up and go running with, and then a cat to come home and get stoned with.
