I think I over did it.

I took my clones in the veg stage. After i took my clones, they seemed to come back from wilting with in 3-4 hours. but when I got up this morning most of them are wilting again. Is this normal?

depends on the growing conditions like how close is your light/type of light and if you used rooting hormone and waterd them. but generally yea they should wilt a little but im not sure how you did your cloning process.also a humidity is key for water uptake try spraying the leaves with a little water cuase it helps it get water due to there not being roots yet also the little clear planter boxes those work good too but how ever you do it make sure humidity is way up till it starts forming good roots.

I think I screwed up. When I did my cutting. I cut the clones at a 45 degree angle, but not close enough for a node to go inside the rapid rooters. It is just the stem with the root jell, and the clonex and such in the water. Does there need to be a Node of the clone inside the rapi rooter?

no you dont need to have a node but i do recommend cutting the clone then make the 45 under water then quickly in root hormone then into the medium to prevent air bubbles in the stem witch may be what you have.but im not sure wich method ur using if rockwoll then making the 45 under water isnt really neccesary.
this is the guide i followed when i first cloned.

I don't know if I'm just lucky or what it is. I never really run into any problems when I attempt to clone. I think it's my "laziness" which is the equivalent of patience sometimes. I cut them sometimes with care and dip them right away and other times it's whatever. Just cut, dip in h20, dip in rooting hormone, and let them sit in a humidity dome. I spray them occasionally, and don't really mess with them 2 much. I've had some clones with roots all over the bottom of the humidity dome before I get them in some sort of medium.

Well they seem to be hanging on as well as most pictures I see of other peopls clones at 24 hours.

wel like i said they will droop for a bit but if they look like they getting better then tht mean the roots forming but to help i would lightly mist them evryonce in awhile to help it get water faster. also humidity boxes are great for clones and it helps them stay humid and grow good roots also make sure ur running them under a flourescent to keep the stress of growing down as much as possible and heat down.

Thanks Tok3,

I am doing all of those things. I have a Clone Dome, am Misting them like 2-3 times a day, depending on if they need it. I have the vents on the dome closed to try and keep the humidity inside, and I have a t-5 flouresent light about 16" above the plants

Ok, I got 12 clones going. they are about 3 days old and looking good.

My plants are now 24 days old. They are big and bushy. (16") right now. So big that I need to send them into flowering today. I only have 8' ceilings, and with the 6" of chain holding the light, plus the 8" for the heighth of the light, plus the 12" I need from the plants to the light. This means my plants can only get another 20" taller. I am going to have to do some lst on them as it is. I will try and get pictures tomorrow.

I will make sure to have my camera tomorrow. I still left it at work.

I still think I over did it this time. Dam it is a lot of work to drain 30-40 gallons of Nut Water, and reload it, and I have my r/o water, all there with switches and valves. WOW,, they also take a lot of nuts in this system. When I pumped out the nuts, the water was nice and clear. I think it had only been in there for 5 days though. I am going to try and work my way up to changing every 2 weeks. I hear you can do change out less if you have a bigger Res. A lot of people get the 25 gallon res with my system, I got the 40 gallon.

I will do my best to grab my camera from the desk at work. I put it in my desk because I can not have a camera inside my work site.

This sucks. I thought I over built my room. Now I am starting to think it is not big enough. I think I should have flowered sooner. This is way sooner then my last grow, and much faster then what most I have read about.

I have read a lot of threads here, and took what I like out of them all.

But this is the time, just before I started to burn or cal def. my plants. so I am going a little easier on the nuts. and this time I have calmag with my r/o water.

the stupid trouble that I hit in this grow.

I just noticed. When I took my clones, I made sure to put a marker in each plant I took clones from and match it with a marker for the clones.
Anyway, I used a permanent black marker. It was not even close to permanent. I can not see any of the markings now. I am pretty sure I can tell 1-4 easy, but 5&6 are going to be a wash.. From now on, I will use those paint pens they have out now, cost way more then a marker, but they will mark every time. Pictures hopefully tomorrow. just need to bring camera home.

This must be why some of the long time growers think they are God's, because they have went through all this little stupid problems that no one talks about.

Oh Yah, talking about stupid little problems. I fixed my chain length on my light.. WOW!!!! My heart about flew right out of my chest... I knew it would be hairy. One of the locks on the item that holds the light released, the light swung down and was going to wipe out at least half my plants, but luckily, the other side held and the 400 watt light with ballast swung there on one end. I Freaked. I am so glad that I did the light end first. if not, It would have had a disaster.

Ok, got my Camera home today. here are two pictures of my clones at 3 days old. This is my first time ever trying to clone. Can anyone tell me how they seem to be doing? They look a heck of a lot better then a day or two ago. So that must be good.

I will get pictures of my big plants when they wake up.

they look like they doing pretty good but next time id recommend removing those fan leaves as they are not necessary and will only take up water and energy. you want to have mainly just the top grow shoot.

Tok3, I read to remove the fan leaves, but then I read from another guy to leave the fan leaves, that the plant will use up the nutrients from the fan leaves. Hmm,,, Which one should I have done. I have been wondering if I chose the wrong way. But this guy did also say, that by leaving the fan leaves on that the plant will recover faster. Next time I clone, I will take two clones from each plant. One I will leave the fan leaves, the other clone I will remove them.

I mist my clones when I get up, once when I get home from work, and once when I go to bed. So three times a day.

a bit larger than i normally take, i try to take them 2 inches tall or so. nice and small, they seem to develop alot better.

Russor,
I am pretty sure you are totally correct on that one. I took 3 short cuttings, they were about 2"-3" long, total before going into the Rapid Rooters, and all three are doing the best out of any of the clones.

Jonny,
how many days ago did you take your clones?
Might think about taking the clones during vegging next time. I have read that it stresses the plants to do it during flowering stage.

Tok3 sent me a link to some video's that included cloneing. I think I am going to go in and trim some of those fan leafs.

2 1/2 hours more until I can open my flowering room. ARGH!!! First 24 hours of flowering, I am worried about them.
