One word people. OSRAM Leds. Loads higher PAR for less input. Ive Already tested & journalised the Plant Photonics DS-90 LED,. the link to my journal is on their website & my homepage on profile.
Ive just recieved the First UK manafactured Osram LED light aswell to test. Exciting times are ahead with this new generation of LED's
The 280 watt model costs $1342 USD. That's a whole lotta cash for 280 actual watts..

No mate, the 280Watts is 'Watt' it consumes in power not output.

Photonics only rate / advertise their LED's by the power consumption
.

280 watt/watts....I get it

Just sayin, that is a very steep price point, like most other supposedly "legit" LED's....AKA Non Chinese Made. I went to the Plant Photonics site and liked what I was seeing and reading until I saw the prices.

Good eye Skunky, you're right, it has been photoshopped.
I thought I looked it over thoroughly the first time, but I missed something.
As someone who not only works with grow lights, but also works in lighting (aka gaffing) for films and tv, I'm mad at myself for missing it.
The 3 people standing on the left hand side of the photo are only casting 2 shadows
Are you 100% sure it's photoshopped???? because that's a pretty strong claim..........

That pic is really small; could be a joined shadow, but then the angle is off.......idk, tough call

I'm positive it's photoshopped.
Like I said, the 3 people on the left hand side of the photo only make 2 shadows.
The last guy in line, farthest from the camera, is clearly producing no shadow at all.
Look down by his feet, they are surrounded by light, with no shadow falling in any direction.
When I'm gaffing on set, my job is literally working with shadows, and controlling them.
That light, hitting those 3 people, from that angle, should produce 3 separate shadows.

a LED company not being completely honest with its potential customers..... NOOOOOOOO!!!! (insert sarcasm button)

its a shame if it is photoshopped... they are charging like a wounded bull and would expect more TBH...

because i bet you work INSIDE your grow room, do you not?

http://www.greners.com/i/grow-lights/hoods-reflectors/ceramic-fixtures.html

your plants will stretch and have larfy buds without the right spectrum and intensity. the PAR on these lights is through the roof as WELL AS THE INTER-NODAL SPACNG FOLKS>

Damn.......well that basically^^ confirms it then , thanks karma!.......shame, really liked an all American made led panel. This doesn't bode well for the company IMO.

You're welcome, sir.
I was hoping for the best with this one, too.
Nobody has pulled these kind of shenanigans in a while.
It's like somebody hit the reset button and we're in 2010-2011 all over again.

With all the BS that floats around the LED "industry" you would think a company would try to distance itself from that sort of thing....

I still hold hope for their lights but if photoshopping is the way the want to go then they dont hold their customers in very high regards

Good eye bad karma but this is another black eye to the LED community. It's company's like this one that give LEDs a bad rep and make people turn away from them. Hopefully this company gets what they deserve for making exaggerated claims and charging top prices for a lie.

Exactly.
People may get bored with us for recommending the same three lights (Hans, A51, Apache) again and again.
It's because we know, for a fact, without a doubt, that those lights do what they claim.
They also treat their customers like intelligent people, which this company has failed to do.

I wouldn't call it a black eye on the community, just par for the course.
There are a lot of shady companies out there, LED selling, or otherwise.
That is one of the reasons I hang around these forums so much, to help others avoid costly mistakes.
Myself, and the other LED guru's, are always on guard against this kind of BS, of that you can be sure.

Yeah brotha, we hear ya but everytime I go the A51 site, their lights are either out of stock or on backorder until sometime 2014. Doesn't bode well for people who want to buy.

Yep^^......exactly. I've been in touch with them and emailed this thread (with the link) so maybe they can clear things up/save face (more pics of this test with accurate exposure/shadows! Lol) in here. But I doubt it, and this is where are communications will end most likely.

Bummed, also their 120w led = 400w hps & 320w led = 1000w hps is exaggerated; over 2.5gpw isn't going to happen:-P

I can understand being frustrating waiting for them to have lights in stock, I had to wait for the XGS to be in stock before I bought mine.
But like we've stated on here before, right now, they are the best LED value going, the most bang for your buck.
So it's understandable if lots of people are snatching up their lights, making them a scarce commodity.
Patience is a gardener/growers best friend
