All sorts of reasons for sites to go down and server issues are one for sure but there are many. I'm Admin at another pot forum and if it goes down there's bugger all I can do but wait for the webmaster to fix it. She ain't that quick about it either and it just happens to be down right now too.

Considering how long the warning about uploading pictures was up after the problem was fixed I wouldn't hold your breath waiting for news about the down times.
Would be nice to hear about the cause tho.
