Holy crap dude, really I'm just having fun here but your argument above looks like it was conceived by a 10 year old considering the lack of depth.
I do expect tax cause its the law. Tips aren't required by law.
The underpaying of their staff is no fucking concern of mine. They either have quality affordable food I want, or they don't. I'm not there for alot of food for cheap, I'm there to have a meal that I will enjoy. I eat to live, I don't live to eat.
Best way to put it to a grower would be to not assume that I'm going to agree with your bullshit just because I grow. I buy a light online I expect to pay shipping as I understand the price of the light is just for that, and that the shipping is additional because I didn't pick it up at their store, and they have to inform me of all charges before they charge my card, so again I know to expect shipping. If a resturaunt wants to inform me in some way prior to my ordering of food that gratuity is a required fee, thats fine, I'll just fucking leave like I always do at places like that.
I don't have to pay a shipping bill to the waiter because I'm right fucking there, they didn't have to ship it anywhere. They carried it 25 feet from the kitchen to me, thats there job, I'm not their employer so I won't worry about paying their wages. Now, if this same person is prompt in coming back to me, never leaves me with an empty glass for more than couple minutes, etc, then I will tip them according to their level of service. The amount I pay for my food is just that, my food bill, not a server bill.
