I search long and hard and can not find anyone that can say they have had good grows with GLH 2011 V1-3 180 or 290's. It seems either they killed the grow because of issues ( similar to you and I) or they added additional lites - HPS / CFL , we are getting ready to start flowering after 30 days vegging 3 clones, first nutes appear to turn new growth yellow, but after increasing the nutes to 1/2 of what FF suggests starting to turn a little more green all over, added 4 ml per gallon of cal/mag and some liquid kelp. I was also chasing the ph but this time I put all the specified nutes into 1.5 gallon of water set in dark corner for about 24 hours and magic, the ph was already at 6.7/8 vs. aerating for day and having ph levels that had to be controlled via acids... thinking maybe killing the good stuff I am trying to grow in the roots... just my ramblings, and oh yeh, vegging with Spectra 180 V2 - 21 on /3 hrs off - when I go to 12/12 I will add the 290 at the top of the tent with the 180 at same height.

yeah kinda dissapointing $750 bucks, not to mention the plants I fried, the nutes I wasted, and the time I spent trying to figure out what I was doing never once suspecting light poisoning. I never had my lights closer than 20 inches and I've tried 4 different strains. The only option left is to build another story onto my house to get the light far enough away for my plants to survive. Live and learn man, good luck! I'm wondering if Mike from GLH is Irish Boy, pretending to be a grower "testing"

I wonder the same myself, they are both in S Calif, notice all the die hard glh folks stepping up to say how well they have done. Expensive lesson, going to keep trying at least for now, but I dont know that I would buy any led's again...and my feelings are based on my newbi grow and anything pertaining to GLH on the web referencing 2011 grows...

hey Irish... I been real busy lately, but just wanted to say whassup and hope your grows are doing well... My aeroponic rootchamber is complete and operational, and my main worry is the chamber reaches nearly 90 degrees on a normal basis- but I know your the king of getting good results in hotter environments. I was curious, what are your rootzone temps when it gets so hot, or at least what are your nute temps?
grow turned out better then i thought because of the temps.lol. never checked my root zone but know it has to be hot if the room its 100F. when i feed i put frozen bottles in the res.
so it's not because those lights fried the tips of your leaves? I've got a spectra and it is cooking my leaves my past 3 grows. Kept thinking it was nute burn or something else, but nope it's the light.
no i cut all my plants all the time, Google it and you will see the info is correct, my plants stayed green all the way threw as you can see.

others have had burning issues some reason i just dont get them even with the 2x500w lights? dont know why i dont? might be the complete Dyna gro nutes? or sillica?

here is my new drip system. got the 6" halo drip rings that have 50 something holes. instead of spending $160 on a tray stand i went to the store and bought a 2'x4 table for $30.lol. everything ran real smooth. each ring has a flow adjuster to make the water even on all rings. here is some pics and also some of one of my buds thats not yet dry but getting their. i have 2x4" flat round air stones in the res with a 400GPH pump mixing the res and then the pump that runs the drippers, this system uses very little water also. have all 4 lights up.. the bad is my plants will be shorter since i lost head room but i wanted to start learning how to get shorter foot ball size buds
