Is China a threat?

The same people complaining about inflation, are still buying shit. Stop buying shit and watch what the prices do.
The inflation we've seen over the past three years was due to the supply chain being disrupted by the Covid pandemic followed by Putin's invasion of Ukraine that disrupted grain and energy supplies. People stopped buying shit for about two years during the pandemic and the supply chain could not keep up with pent up demand when economies opened back up. You can't blame people for wanting to buy shoes after being pent up for a couple of years.

Your post made an ignorant statement. You probably don't know that the median wage earner makes about $35,000/yr. Median and low wage earners were barely able to make ends meet before prices rose faster than wages did. That's not enough to pay for the minimum cost of food, shelter, clothing, and transportation, with healthcare out of their reach. Those are necessities, not something they can just not do. It's ridiculous to say they should stop buying shit. Those making 60k or more, yes, they might be able to stop buying shit but that would crash our economy and wouldn't affect worldwide inflation one bit. Because it isn't due to people buying shit.

give one (1) example of a nuclear-powered battleship that conforms to the third-party definition I posted some minutes ago. For convenience, I repeat it here.

Some people don't have the humility needed to learn. I'll keep that in mind when I see hiphop's posts. Even when confronted with proof that he's wrong, he still insists he's right. Ignore might be appropriate for him.

I think people actually spent more money during the peak of the pandemic. Online shopping crushed it, but was probably the deficit of brick and mortar shopping due to lockdowns.. Netflix, Caravan, Walmart, AMZ were killing it 2 years ago. We had our best 2 years in the weed industry.... prob because people didn't have anything else to do.
Fedex, and UPS ran out of trucks to deliver, so they had to rent U-hauls. I got on a first name basis with most of them because we got boxes delivered almost every day or two. So in light of that, it was a ying yang. Everybody just switched up where they bought stuff, and prob spent more because they were bored. I just know that whenever we got down to our 236th roll of toilet paper, the wife was online buying another 30 pk.

The wives really get crazy when there's a TP shortage.

@PadawanWarrior We have this weird game that we play of who can get the most, or last usable drop of tooth paste out of a tube. I'll think she had given up one night,.. but the next morning, she's squeezed that tube till it's unrecognizable. I usually still win tho.
do you have a handshake agreement against using tools?

Have you encountered the awful new polymer tubes? They’re springy. It gripes me that there is half a teaspoon left in there that will not come out without using hydraulics.

Well, If she's using tools, I don't know about it. I just use the "scrub and tuck" to get all I can out of it. It's not like we can't afford toothpaste, it's just one of those silent games couples play. .... and no, we don't buy the poly tubes... walls are too thick.

But... back to China. I bet that if you had to remove everything made in China from your home, you wouldn't have much left. Even on SharkTank they advise new entrepreneurs to out source production because it's much cheaper to do and ship back than have it made here (US). Which puts us in a standoff of do we pay more and make it here, or continue on and possibly face trade sanctions with China? Personally, I'd pay more for US made, but... they (China) do make some pretty fantastic electronics. And the general population is going to pay as little as they can get away with, so this may never happen. It's a catch 22.

I don’t think I’ve ever seen good audio from China

JBL? Panasonic? Yamaha?.... I prefer Bose myself, but Yamaha and JBL make some nice stuff. You gotta admit tho.. thier TV's are pretty cutting edge. I suppose I should group all of these electronics in the "Asian" category ... not all are made in China.

Bose is from Satan. They deliberately distort the spectrum. And they charge!
All the brands you mentioned are Circuit City crap. You can’t get good audio from a mall or the Zon.
Here’s a nice preamp.

Nice!.... I agree that Bose does not give you equalization, but... I have 8500hz tinnitus, and I hear it 24/7 over and above anything even in a crowed restaurant, So for some reason it sounds better to me.
