The inflation we've seen over the past three years was due to the supply chain being disrupted by the Covid pandemic followed by Putin's invasion of Ukraine that disrupted grain and energy supplies. People stopped buying shit for about two years during the pandemic and the supply chain could not keep up with pent up demand when economies opened back up. You can't blame people for wanting to buy shoes after being pent up for a couple of years. The same people complaining about inflation, are still buying shit. Stop buying shit and watch what the prices do.
Your post made an ignorant statement. You probably don't know that the median wage earner makes about $35,000/yr. Median and low wage earners were barely able to make ends meet before prices rose faster than wages did. That's not enough to pay for the minimum cost of food, shelter, clothing, and transportation, with healthcare out of their reach. Those are necessities, not something they can just not do. It's ridiculous to say they should stop buying shit. Those making 60k or more, yes, they might be able to stop buying shit but that would crash our economy and wouldn't affect worldwide inflation one bit. Because it isn't due to people buying shit.
