I'm growing some Big Buddha Silver Cheese, been in flower for just over 6 weeks, expected time is 9-10 weeks.

On inspection recently, they looked pretty ready, so I pruned a bit to try squeeze a bit more light into them, they had lost their sparkle a bit recently. Few days later they have loads of dust again and I'm sure they have got bigger.

So now I'm torn, worried about overcooking them, or letting them get bigger, I feel like they have more to give, but I don't want to fuck them up and leave to long, but then I appreciate the most common mistake made is to crop too early.

Also, I should point out that isn't a main cola, its one of a few from a topped and tied plant.

Also, the lighting plays crazy stuff with my camera, so the pistols are not quite as orange as they appear, everything has an orange tint

Looks close but not done. Under optimum conditions 9 weeks is expected but if you have problems during the grow the finish can be put off for a week or two. Your plants look really good they're just not quite done.

OK cool, I guess if I see them start to grey, get it down. I thought it would be just my eagerness trying to convince myself they are ready.

Its not an auto, cheese and kush cross, smells lovely, got a really fruity lemon smell on your fingers.

Yeah it's always hard to wait in the beginning. Just be patient, you'll be rewarded soon enough with some real nice home made stanky danky.

The top ones have quite a bit of amber, but at the lower end of the same bud there are some new creamy ones that seem to have sprouted overnight.

I've got my jewelers loupe on order, arriving Friday, we will see for sure then, can take down on the weekend then.

Just over 6 weeks and already amber? I have a girl in flower right now with completely cloudy / opaque trichomes at 5 weeks flower - I thought that was impressive. ;)

Its all personal preference. Chop now if your looking for a more cerebral high or wait a bit if you want a heavier yield and more of a sit you on your butt high wait..not to mention I think the taste is always better if you wait for more amber

Not in any scientific studies that I can find, I have been researching this for a long time and put the info in a thread that unfortunately is controversial I guess but all the info is here

https://www.rollitup.org/t/if-your-a-new-grower-youre-gonna-wanna-see-this.828754/

Please read the whole thread, I really had hoped to start a conversation about it and well you'll see
That's pretty interesting. For the record I agree with what you say, ultimately its just a weed, like any other plant.

My buds are still growing, so while they are, I'm going to leave them alone. I use it mainly to get to sleep anyway, so a more heavy high suits me fine.
