the 250mm pushes 108 cfm, is that enough? the cabinet specs are 25-3/4" L x 19" W x 35-3/4" H

That's 17000 cubic inches, so about 10 cubic feet +/- that fan will exchange your air about 10 times per minute, so I think that is plenty. Check my math though, I'm on my phone and made some guesses.

Ok i measured my holes and the bottom intake is 6 inches, and the upper hole is 4 inches. what looks like a hole on the right is actually the fan installed.

Shopping list

Im having trouble locating a flange to glue these to. any suggestions?

Unless someone else chimes in, then when I get home I will show you a possible solution for this. It is a little tedious and time consuming but it is free if you have a flat piece of plastic which is large enough to cover both holes. Give me a few hours and I will post you some pics.

bro, dont waste money on the pvc glue and cleaner, those pieces fit tight and you really dont wanna glue them together, when you put 2 pieces together, they can be hard enough without glue to take back apart. no flanges at home depot or lowes?

ok, so this is what I did to build a box for my exhaust. i have named each picture in the order of the step, in case they get uploaded out of whack, so look for the name.

i improvised this for instructional purposes and used paper for ease and speed, and some steps are a little different than what you will actually do, but this was a quick tutorial.

i used a flat white piece of plastic from a plastic tupperware storage container like you would use as a res. take a lid if you have one laying around and trim the edges to where you have a big flat piece of plastic. now make sure your holes in the back of your cab are about the same size as the elbow. put the plastic piece on one side and trace the holes onto the flat plastic from the other side, pictures 1 & 2. use this as a starting point, but you have to make sure your duct will fit over it once it is all cut, look ahead to pic 12 to help picture it. now your gonna mark up and cut up the pizza, kinda , pics 3-7. this doesnt really have to be perfect, but you have to bend those little triangle slivers after the cut so dont make them to wide. now time to cut, this is pic's 8-10. be careful if you use a razor knife, i almost cut my finger off cutting plastic, blade bent barely and broke, broke edge sticking in plastic for my finger to run across it cutting me baddly. just be careful. cut all the little slivers. if you can look through the duct and see that the circles diameter will fit into the duct snugly then check. if not bend 2 totally opposite each other and slide your elbow over it for a fit test, adjust accordingly. next build a form to hold these tabs up, i used cardboard for this cause it was quick and dirty. for the unit I built for "production" i used a folgers coffee can cause it fit a 6 inch duct perfectly. so anything circular that will fit inside your elbow, or build it out of cardboard. slide it over the tabs and tape the inner and outer sides all the way around with short pieces of tape. this will seal it up well. now from the back side, slide this dual flange into the cab through the holes, and slide your duct over, pics 11-12. from the back side you can tape your custom flange to your cab, or even pop a screw or 2 in it, just use a hand screw driver to tighten. sorry for such a long post and all the pictures, but i thought it might help, hope it does!!

thank you for going into such detail, I will look around and see if i have a spare res cover. I may indeed build what you described. Gave me a few ideas as well.

Could you screw metal L brackets to the pvc and then screw the brackets to the wall then caulk it?

ok, back from home depot and heres what i saw, first, i didnt see the flange thats in the other pic but it does look just like the back draft thing, but i know i have before. the 6 pics are the 3 things i did see, the 4" back draft flapper thing looks like the best bet, but the dryer vent hose connector is cool because you get 2 pieces, there 4". when i loaded pics it mixed them up with the prices.

now heres the good part of this story, i got stoned (with my own home grown buds) hittin the bowl on the way there. i used my crutches cause its just to far to still walk without them, so i get outta my truck and start headin in and i get this wicked ass head rush, my knees go all limp, felt like i was melting, LoL. good thing i had the crutches cause i would have fallen down im sure. well, hope something here helps.

I am tempted just to put the fans back in and go with my old reflector and bulbs, Just to get growing again.

Im worried a 6 inch elbow will cost me growing space. The original idea was based on two three inch holes, not a 6 inch intake and a 4 inch exhaust. keep in mind i have a really small box to begin with. A 6 inch pvc elbow is large and would block my favorite growing spot.

for kicks i installed the old reflector and have it on, just to see what the temps are like without the extra fans. only fan i have going is one directed on the lights. It's been bugging me this whole time if it makes a difference. If the temps go out of control, i will start work on your wonderful tutorial gumball.

Ok epic fail, temps were 91 when i shut it down. shit i was hoping it would magically work. hehe

Yeah, I still need to put my mini peltier ac together. I got everything working, I just need to assemble and install. Good luck on the temps JP, it is a definite stRuggle for us small cab growers.

If i could get away with a portable a/c all problems would go away.

its a constant struggle to keep the temps down but i will get it figured out. just a matter of time now.
