my basic service fixed is displayed as 0.0810035 x 425 kwh (what i used the month of this bill) which came out to 34.43. am i to understand that my electricity cost is WAY cheaper than some of yours? the actual BILL was for almost 64 dollars because of all the delivery charges which came out to an extra 29 bucks, and the breakdown of those charges is also displayed in an amount that is multiplied by kwh, so therefore i really paid closer to 15 cents per kwh. i'm thinking our bills may just break down the charges differently. my state requires everything broken down like that on utility bills. to the one from maine i don't think your ACTUAL cost per kwh when all is said and done is that low.

edit: i found this chart of average cost per kwh on this site http://www.eia.doe.gov/electricity/epm/table5_6_b.html fuck you bitches in north dakota and idaho. you lucky bastards pay about 8 cents. cheapest in the country.

I used 578 kwhr @ 6.7 cents and 1582 @ 8.1 cents. Not sure why I have separate tiers. Maybe its just an overage, or maybe i'm using during peak hours. They don't seem to specify on my bill or on their website. I also have a 4.2 cents/kwhr and a 0.2 cents/kwhr charge on all electricity.

Including taxes and delivery charges and all the other shit on this bill it works out to 12.6 cents/kwhr overall.

EDIT: Thats pretty fucking close to Total Head's chart. I am in michigan.

I'm pretty energy efficient. I set my heat at 63*F in the morning for a couple hours, and from 5pm-11pm. While i'm at work or in bed it gets set at 45*F. In the summer I usually set the ac at 80* while i'm there (if I decide to use it at all - usually not). My normal electric bill without the grow op and without the ac is usually under $100.
63 is cold has fuck to wake up to..... and 80 in summer... lol why even turn the a/c on..

I invested in a hooded sweatshirt and a pair of slippers because my house never gets above 63. My heating bills are extremely reasonable compared to everyone else I know. I'm only awake in the mornings for 3-4 minutes before I leave for work anyway. Remote start car, get dressed, grab banana, then i'm out the door.

And I turn the ac on because when it is 95* outside, 80* feels fantastic. Especially in my basement which is where I hang out all summer. My basement will be cooler this summer because I moved my grow out of it.

I adjust my flowering so that the lights come on at when its dark outside so that I'm not getting owned by peak usage rates.

we pay out the ass for power, but at least we dont have to worry about peak usage rates. we do have a "base line" allotment and if we go over that the rate jumps.

£290 for this bill, i run a 600w and a 125w cfl, the rest i guess is the sound gear. My grow is 100% outgoing expenses, it brings no money back directly.
