If my girls are drying out a bit too fast, could I help them dry slower if I just go ahead and jar it up, and check it more often to help it dry slower?
Did you not read my post above lol. That's the worst thing you can do to weed. Make the room colder or add humidity

Get your thirty pounds trimmed?..... You're soo cool
Not yet. Taking them 70 days . Dude you gave this poor lady false info and now she thinking about jaring early. I think she's growing this all for headsmoke so if it's going to be stored for awhile it needs to be properly dried

I think if you read back you'll see u told her the same thing I did...... The only problem is your loose definition of the word snap

That would be like a low five for you right?..... Stooping down to the level of a closet grower......

You ain't got ain't got nothing on me pal..... New guys might be impressed but I'm not
I'm not here to impress anyone im here to spread the knowledge and learn some. I failed big time my first couple grows and learned a lot from this site. I'm not claiming to know it all dude. But I have had some really nice yields and got some really nice nugs. Still much to be learned.

Ok, so I went ahead and jarred them sooner, to help slow the drying process. I'm just going to check on them more often that I would if they slow dried in the closet. The temp's are 60 to 75 and humidity is 45 to 60, throughout the day. I just hear that if they dry too quick you get less potent weed, and if I check often enough I can hopefully keep them from molding.

If they are still dry after a few days in the jar, is it wise or unwise to put an open baggy with a small slice of lemon or orange on the top of the curing cannabis? Or is that a silly idea?

It's worse than just losing potency..Once you put them in the jar to early your pretty much screwed. The chlorophyll didn't leave the plant and it will cause a smell like ammonia, it won't burn properly, and definitely will get worse over time . If there is any chance of saving them I think the best bet would be putting into a paper bag or back into the dry room asap. we warned you

Just dry them out nicely and jar it in a cool dark place. You don't want to add anything to make them wet while they cure . It will funk the smell and not store well. If you need to add moisture weeks down the road, put nugs into a turkey bag and put a damp paper towel rung all the way out on a paper plate also in the turkey bag. Leave in there for a few hours and the excess moisture from the paper towel will add into the nug.
I do this right before I bring pounds to the dispensary because they open and close there jars a lot and leave them in the light . Plus it adds a little weight :)

you chopped on wed or Thursday ...... they should be dry enough

my new friend here has serious difficulties w numbers and second grade math.... but if the rh inside those jars is under 70 youre good.......

if its too wet and youre worried about them drying too fast put em in a Rubbermaid tote and crack the lid until the rh is in the sixties

adding moisture is bush league

Thank you so much. I'm selectively harvesting but most are hung and some are in jars now. In a few days I'll post some pics and some bud porn when they are dry enough. It would be nice if we could all act like adults, respect one another... And when we disagree on an opinion we don't revert back to name calling.

Being a 25 year old female, that might be too much to ask young boys. At least some peeps hear are mature enough for my taste.

Shol4evr, thanks.

Questions were answered. If people refuse to take your information i am unsure why questions are even asked. What the hek do I know about drying weed. I only grow cannabis for a living. IF humidity is below 70 it is ok to jar. If you jar it above 70 your in for a real eye opener in a couple weeks when your jars smell like ass. A lot of times nugs will seem more dry than they are, when you put them into jars check within the first hour because more moisture will work it's way to the outside of the nug. I am 26. Everyone is in a pissing match to give a female information. I've been following since day 1 so yall can kick rocks. I'm not here to chest puff. Only here to help make sure this womens hard work turns out like it should .

Well I'm in my late 50's with kids older than both of ya, been growin for over 40 years and folks still think I'm full of it LOL

Tis ok to jar em wet as long as you pay more attention to em, which has been said. Alternatives are cardboard box or paper bag to slow em down, which has been said.

I think you're good darlin

chest thumpin should be left to 3rd graders on the playground LOL

If you had been growing 40 years you would know its NOT ok to jar wet lol
And even if you have, I'm assuming I've still dried more weed than you. And ruined more weed from it holding too much moisture. I am trying to help people not make my same mistakes. As far as I know she's growing this for headsmoke . You cannot say that thay weed will taste or smell as good in 2 months time if it was Jar'd with too much moisture

Meagan just get some bovida packs if your unsure . They will put it to the perfect 62% and you can investigate them so next run you know exactly when to jar

and if you had been growin for as long as I have and written two books and posted on forums for lots of years and done thousands of hours of research and experiments you would know the science behind what you're sayin,,,,,,,, like I do

and because I'm not chest thumpin, I'll share

Aerobic respiration, a process that uses oxygen, and anaerobic respiration, a process that doesn't use oxygen, are two forms of cellular respiration. Although some cells may engage in just one type of respiration, most cells use both types, depending on an organism's needs. Cellular respiration also occurs outside of macro-organisms, as chemical processes — for example, in fermentation. In general, respiration is used to eliminate waste products and generate energy.

I understand what I'm saying. If you jar nug before the chlorophyll leaves the flower when you place it in a jar the excess moisture works it's way to the outside of the nug. This leaving you spongy not evenly dried cannabis. Leaving you with uneven, harsh, bad tasting cannabis that loses potency and continues to get worse and smell over time. Once you have done this it is extremely hard to reverse the fuck up. First there will be a grass aftersmell. Then it will smell like amnonia a few weeks later and by this point you might as well throw it away .i don't need to be here anymore because homie writes books and knows everthing. Meagan I hope you don't ruin your nugs like I have done to pounds of mine.

If you jar it wet and leave it unattended to long, you are right, if you pay attention to it and jar it till it wets up, take it out let it crisp on the outside, jar it till wet, take it out let crisp (rinse and repeat) it will actually remove more chlorophyll faster giving you much smoother smoke. Tis the 2 processes in tandem that give the best cure, it is why we use the jars in the first place.

there truly is a difference between teaching and arguing :)
