Awesome!
Nice nuggets!!

I'm super curious on how the Midnight Cowboy turned out in total.
The F1, that is.
I've spent too much time digging for info.
Figured I'd finally just ask someone with some experience.

I'm curious on yield, cure characteristics, and a smoke report if possible.

Thanks in advance for your time, and big respect on your grow.
Looks amazing!
Hey lcksmth,
The single midnight cowboy grown turned out alright.. didnt have the system dialed in, hot tent, climbing ec, ect. Stem rubs had a strong musty skunk smell, 'tight' wide leaves, strong structure.
It was a decent yeild, but wasn't weighed though.. Hairy buds but not so many trichromes. The flavor or strength wasn't there for that grow/plant; had decided to not keep a clone and try again w seeds in the future. Think growing out a full pack would give a more in depth look into the cross.
So far, the male produced 2 of 3 MC leaners and 1 smaller plant that looks similar to the female it was crossed with.

Do you have plans of working w the cross? Will be great to see how it grows with someone else's setup/experience.

Thanks for stopping by ~ And welcome to riu! Good luck with your endeavors! :peace:

Plants have matured faster this round.. major difference is using 1gal pots this time as compared to the 3gal bluepots. Some other environmental impacts: (over)watering until runoff, using aminos(hefeorganic) and fulvic powder consistently, using a fan heater for some mornings and nights, feeding jacks/calnit/mg at a (reduced) ratio using nute calc to formulate, adding mkp throughout flower, switching from recharge/mykos to beneficial bacteria/kelp/yucca.

The plan is to take down Saturday at 70 days bloom, 79 days of 12/12. This week will be tapering ec. Viet sat has been showing signs of stress since reducing nitrogen, turning yellow quickly.. Will flower the next round of sativa clones outdoors in soil. :weed:

:bigjoint:Thanks for joining in another effort to cultivate this natural medicine :joint::peace:

Hey!
That's okay considering you only grew one female out.
Certainly there is a keeper hiding in the pack.
I am currently working with 4 Midnight Cowboy, at the moment.
I started with 6 seeds, 2 unfortunately lost likely to operator error.
They are pre-sex currently, at 7-8 weeks from germ and I'm getting antsy to see what they turn out to.
I think I see tiny balls growing on one.
They have had giant leafs since the very beginning.
Extreme vigor for all four.
The biggest has slight nute burn on the very tips which is curious considering all organic amendments in soil.
Stem rubs are nice.
Heavy classic weed smell.
On my MC#3 I catch lavender off of which I'm very stoked about, regardless if it is male or female.

Anyway I really liked the way your MC looked.
The heavy pistils and morphology was really great.

I will post some pics of mine really soon.
Thanks for the warm welcome!
I'm glad to connect here after years and years of just visiting.

All love!

Very nice to hear another here is working with mendo purps x wookie (MC) also. Did notice what I think to be the lavender coming through, which the nose picked up as a floral, musty towel/sock stench?? It was unique/potent for sure.. Could you desribe the type of lavender your MC#3 is putting off? Appreciate~

I think there's lot's of potential for big purple buds; hoping you find what you're looking for within the 4 growing now. What size pot are they in? And which amendments? If you'd like to share pictures here or another thread, tag me so that if I am able to help determine preflowers, I will. Are you thinking of keeping/using your male for pollen?

Out of 3 PG x MC seeds popped, 2 MC leaners(leaf, smell, structure) have started showing female pre flowers and the PG(leaf) leaner is about a week behind.. didn't keep notes on when these were started, but will keep track once they're in the flower tent.

More info/pictures can be found in the Bodhi thread here. If you are already familiar with using search, plz disregard, but if not >> once in the bodhi thread(or any other) >> type inquiry in the search bar >> click the drop down window >> This thread >> enter search >> will pull up results within that thread. https://www.rollitup.org/t/bodhi-seeds.518143/page-2400#post-15220730

Viet Af x (MB x (mm f5)) & Pai Gow x (MB x (mm f5)) seeds in the bag. Tastes a bit nutty and soft(innards), shell released to a bin. Will eat the shell but perfer their soft guts, rich in amino acids. High is decent so far. Cant wait to eat more! :bigjoint:Some may even get shared w Coco Coirénàpot. They may get a long well and bucket connected to lines that deliver them mineral waters.. feeding them into their final days. Hoping to find a dope female pheno w/o tha sacc.

Speaking of the sacc, last round each of the plants exerted some male traits in their final week(s), sativa the most, pg the least.. As one can guess, it was the stress! Was it the 1 gal pots, forgetting to refill/top off the res causing the coco to dry, using a heater which also taco'd the leaves, lower fan which caked the leaves in wind to the point of crisping.. could have been something else not listed.

For now, concluding rodelization due to environmental stress. Will continue working these lines unless progeny starts playing the sax.. then it'll have to be like charlie parker.

Either ways, this run's crystal production is superb~ outskirts of town, a'blazin! Stoked about it! Will report later. :peace::blsmoke:

Next round~
1068.jpg
1. PG×MC#2
2. GDP#2
3. PG×MC#3
4.GDP#1
5. PG×MC#1
Being fed DG 9-3-6 @ 1ml/l with tap comes to ~1.1 ec(500-600ppm), adding k-silicate once in a while and bacterias.

3/3 seeds popped female from the midnight cowboy chuck, digging the ratio so far. 2/3 GDP (bag)seeds made it, also showing female preflowers. Third became a lil slimeball..

GDP#2 was straggling looking when first started.. babied it with warm temps, high humidity(cup dome) and bennies. Now back on it's feet, ready to be cloned and flowered. It's developed a split in the middle that has been trained/bent away from each other to help create two tops. Will be transplanted soon, once time is made for it. :peace:

Pai Gow fully seeded with s1 from reversed clone. For weeks it's been kept in separtate room for pollination, using the sunlight as the source of light. Brought into tent a few days ago after cleaning from last cycle. Hoping branches will strengthen up.. will probably create a mini cage to help support in later flower. Light is on 15 hours. :peace: :leaf:

Updase.
Happy to report PG×MC#1 is male! Great to have male variety to see stock. Wouldn't have topped it like the others if previously known, but it had a nice structure and wanted to see what it did topped & tied.. still diggin the structure! Stem rubs feel sticky and smell like the midnight cowboy father: rich musty strench with hints of old, wet towel. Only reason I'm thinking of binning, is because it was not picked from a larger batch of seeds...although it does seem very nice: short, smelly, sticky. :leaf: :peace:

Any update on your MC crosses?
I'm on Midnight Cowboy F2 now, 6 plants of the F2 in a 4x4 - doing a tester run.
5 are still small, from varying height small to bigger - 1 has taken off and is the biggest most vigorous of the bunch. Still very early though. It's been a busy year and I'm not getting to post as much as Id like but I will try to periodically share my F2 project, as there is not much strain info out there. Hope you and your garden are well. Cheers!

Greetings~ thanks for stopping by and inquiring @LCKSMTH! Although, have put the MC crosses aside for now.. and switched focus to feminized seeds.

Close to finishing a test run of the (MeatBreathxMMf5) fem seeds: (3) Pai Gow x (MBxMMf5) in the back & (3) MBxMMf5 s1 in front... gotta say, am digging the cross over the s1. Out of 4 seeds, 2 are donor leaning, 1 PG leaner and 1 runt (not pictured).

Here are pics of the PG leaner
20220928_085718_copy_1512x2016.jpg20220928_085735_copy_1512x2016.jpg

Seeds started 7/16, placed into flower tent 8/12. No signs of intersex issues. Has the lingering smell of a warm, inviting indica; different than both PG and MBxMMf5.. thought similar to wedding cake. Looking forward to tasting! :peace: :blsmoke:
