I really hope so Kush, coz it's quite a bit of cash for a failure. Anyway I got them up and running and within an hour the leaves on the plants were all doing that kind of fingers stretched out toward the light, from years of growing I know when a plant is "sucking" in the light and at full throttle, so today is the first full 12/12 on these leds for my girls. Starting a full led thread next week dude ;-)

I have a 500W unit, its a monster. A fucking monster. Its about 285W of actual power draw, so you will be producing PIERCING amounts of light for a meager 570W. Watch out, I bleached one of my taller girls with that unit so position accordingly. Keep it at the normal foot over the canopy, however if you have any taller plants, don't leave them directly under the unit.

Kush, those plants look awesome. Way to wave the blackstar flag...Among the most hated on lights sources, among the most hated on light brand, comes beautiful plants, just as predicted. Funny how the haters justify their views...

You sir = a hero of mine. Shortly, I will be in the "all LED" grow area with you. Ambient temps have climbed into the lower to mid 60's. About 1 more month and it'll be prime for led alone light...

thanks alot hudson..........i cant wait until their done.............my ambient temps here around this time are about 70F-75F, and my closet is about 10degrees higher

I thought all the led haters might get a shock at this photo, my Great White Shark flowering under HPS for 3 weeks and under the 500watt Blackstar for 2 days, yes they have "jumped " even in just 2 days. But here's the thing, this photograph was taken with the camera 15 inches away NO zoom and with.........FORCED FLASH to see if the flash would somehow drown out the light from the Blackstar,as you can see it didn't and I have to say that I am shocked at the intensity of this light unit.

48 to 72 hours of darkness before you switch to 12/12 is in every grow book you can find?

yah all the haters can go blow a big one since i proved the blackstars could salvage my last grow.
just bought a 3rd 240w unit i am putting those 3 and a 100w unit in there for some serious growing now

it had soo much bud it couldnt even stand!!!

It's 36 hours, NOT 72, my bad. I've read it in "Marijuana Horticulture: The Indoor/Outdoor Medical Grower's Bible" by Jorge Cervantes. And this KG uses "Ed Rosenthal's Marjuana Grower's Handbook" I'm sure it's in there too. It's to help kick start the flowering hormones.

As long as it takes......hopefully no more than 8 weeks this time....im thinking about switching my timer to 10/14 to increase ripening

I found a 500 watter on ebay from Gotham Hydro for $550! I talked to Victor and he told me the actual power draw is 320w and it can cover 12 square feet.
