I would say a time when one job could comfortably feed a family could be considered the good ole days. I'm not sure why you poke fun at this. Our need to have both parents working coincides with our decreased rankings in education.

Do those numbers/charts include corporations or just people? And does it go by the % of people not paying or the total % of money that should be coming in that is not?
If the latter, than it could have alot to do with all the tax dodging by most companies.
Why dont they get bitched about for not paying taxes??? Theyre the 1% controlling 90% of the money, and they expect the 99% with 10% of the money to cover their rich assholes with taxes to fund the govt.
Only the poor get yelled at for being on unemployment, when a multi BILLION dollar industry has gained money through tax subsidies.
Obama may not be helping us with dealing with the banks/coporations, but he is helping the people who need it for the future.
I am not a fan of anyone giving tax breaks and subsidies to people who can more than afford it. Dem, or rep.
And i would be for anyone who wanted to get money out of the political scene.
I honestly wouldnt care if they were as dumb and close minded as Ted Cruz. If he was for getting money out of there than hed get my vote. Even with his ridiculous ideals. haha But considering 90% of his money comes from lobbyists in the form of legal bribes, i doubt that will be happening anytime soon.
We just need one person. One president, funded by THE PEOPLE, fOR THE PEOPLE, to come in and clean up this bullshit.
But hed probably end up like lincoln or jfk for trying to actually make a change in the US.
