well im feeling a lot better today. im still not sure if shes going to herm on me but im thinking that either way i flipped the lights at the right time anyway. i thnk i should get pretty good coverage on the screen and im holding out hope. i scoured the plant for pre flowers this morning and found 3. 2 which look decidedly female and 1 which definitely doesnt look female but still doesnt look male yet it could be some kind of deformed branch (fingers crossed) growing where the flower should be. i know thats unlikely but heres hoping. and the vk perked up a bit this morning too

ok so no new news today except the little flower that i thought was a male flower today is looking more and more like a branch? its just growing at a flower site. i will get a picture tomorrow when i do my update. cant wait for her to start showing her sex for sure. the not knowing is killing me. also the change of light cycle has been rough. one of my older problems has come back to haunt me with my 600w ballast not firing up correctly. it hasnt been a major problem as i have it set for 4am when i wake up anyway and the first thing i do is check on the girls so i can just switch it off and fire it up while im there. i need to shuffle some more plugs and hopefully that will fix it. i think it mostly relates to my 400w already being on when the 600w starts up. it seems to need alot of power just for that initial kick and having so many things running off of 3 powerpoints all in one room doesnt help.
also how does anyone cope in flowering. the only time i get to look at the buddha now is once in the morning before work everyday. i thnk im having withdrawls lol. seriously though its not much to look at at the moment anyway its all ugly now thats its pushing through the screen. that will all change soon though if she turns out not to be a hermie.

your torturing me here forgetie. all the great typed details and no pictures? im dying to see your girlies..
why dont you use a timer for your lights?
i have the same problem. i check on my waterfarm girls before work and then have to wait a full 9 -10 hours before i see them again. My lights are scheduled on at high noon and off at 6 am. so I can check to make sure they are off when i go to work and then when i come home they have been on for about 4 hours. this is my 18/6 routine.
Now when i go 12/12 the lights will be off at 6am and on at 6pm. This is particularly benifical in the summertime when i am batteling heat issues. I really like it anytime of the year though because it suits my lifestyle nicely. I wait for lights to come on at 6pm and get to be home to see the girls wake up and give them their food at the most approriate time. lol. they sound like pets. haha. later on.. amber

no i do use timers but i have a problem with the 600w where it seems to all the available draw to ignite im nt sure if it has something to do with the way my house is wired or not but if the 400w plus the 4 inline fans and the 2 pedestal fans are all on it wont ignite. so i used to have everything staged so i have 2 big inlines running always along with the pedestal fans. then the 600w would ignite and worked fine then 15mins later the 400w would ignite then in 15mins more the 2 cool tube fans would start up. but now that i have switched the 600w to flower i have to have it start later but because everything else is running already it doesnt like to start. worst part is i only have 2 days to get it sorted before i go away for a long weekend.

About the light cycle, well, during veg I have the lights to come on at 18:00 and switch off at 12:00. During flowering they'll be on from midnight to midday. I'm a musician so my work hours are during afternoon/evening/nights, depending on if and when there is work available 8-)

Like yesterday, I came back at around 01:00 am, and I had some nice time with my plants before hitting the sack. At the same time, having the lights running during the night really helps with the temperature. Remember, southern Europe here... we won't have any snow or freezing temperatures during the winter ;-)

the buddha

a little before and after scrog action lol

i really gotta say i hate the way she looks growing under the screen but the photos really dont do it justice when you see her up close u can really see just how fast she is filling in this screen and just how many branches there really are. if she doesnt hermie on me there is going to be a ton of bud sites on this girl.

well all is going well running at 1200ppm and still hungry what a beast even had a small case of calcium deficiency, really have to keep the nutes up to this girl. no more development on the preflowers at this stage. im kinda really thinking all is going to be ok. not much else to report except that im still having my light issues. trying a new method today where im setting a timer so that all of my fans will shut down for 1/2 while the 600w fires up. today is my last attempt to get it right before i go away so if its not working tomorrow before i leave i wil have to do something drastic like change the whole light cycle of the 400 so it starts after the 600w or just switch it of for 1/2 hr while the 600 ignites.

the vk

well what can i say she lives and that is all really started running 150ppm a day or 2 ago and shes quite happy at that level. hopefully she doesnt become a pig like the buddha lol

Photos never really do justice to a plant now, do they? I take my photos and 10s later I watch em on my screen and I'm like wtf, it ain't showing the plant how it's supposed to. But then again as human beings we put our imagination into play to fill in the gaps.

Blues is what I play for money since there's no really any money in punk/rock (and shouldn't be any if you wanna keep it real ;) )

edit: My main passion obviously is punk/rock with metal attributes and we're quite successful but as I said, we're keeping it outside capitalistic commercial bullshit. Fame over money :p

they do say on barneys web site that laughing buddha is a fast grower so that might have helped a little but these waterfarms are bloody quick i have been watching a few and they all have great growth.

SUCCESS!!!! and not a moment too soon. the 600w starts up fine with all the fans off so that will get me through the weekend until i can sort a permanent solution

You must spread some Reputation around before giving it to forgetiwashere again.

ok guys so i have just flipped my plant to 12/12 5 days ago. i have noticed today that my new growth is coming through very pale. when i flipped to 12/12 i also started using transition nutes so 1/2 nova grow and 1/2 nova bloom i also added a little koolbloom.

what im wondering is should i have not changed my nutes yet? would the stretch period be considered aggressive growth not transition? if so this is probably just a case of nitrogen deficiency. this plant does like a lot of nitrogen. none of the lower leaves are yellowing at all though just the new shoots.

or could it be possible that i added too much phosphorous in the koolblom causing a iron lockout? as from what i have seen in my research this is very similar to how it looks as well ph is fine and ppms are at about 1400ppm

heres some pics hopefully someone can help

^^^^^^THIS ONE SHOWS IT WELL^^^^^^^

ok so the photos arent great but u can see the centre or apex of the leaves are very pale yellow on the new shoots and the new shoots are just very pale all round.

thanks guys
