Okay, boyz 'n gals! It's time to present my current light cause it's ready to use!
I first thought I should create an own thread but decided against. I can not show any plants anyway so this thread is the best place. If anyone have questions feel free to ask what you want.
It consists of 20x 2ft. F-Series strips/3000°K/CRI80 in 10s2p to one HLG-240H-C1050B and 8x Blux V18c COB's in 3000°K/CRI90 to a HLG-120H-C500B, approximately 400w net., 440w total.View attachment 4111187 View attachment 4111188 View attachment 4111189 View attachment 4111190 View attachment 4111191 View attachment 4111192 View attachment 4111193 View attachment 4111198 Than I've added a 39w UV-A/B reptile T5HO tube and a 730nm Flower-Trigger, consisting of 6x Cree XP-E's on a 5w driver. Main light, UVB tube and flower trigger are all connected via Sonoff timers and controlled via ewelink app. Currently I run some stability tests and if all works as expected I will sell it to a friend who's already waiting.

What a beast that is. Where did you get the reflector for the t5/UVB ?

Funny thing is when I came across the sale it had been up for 9 days already and only advertised the light. I was sure that someone had snatched it up already but when I inquired the guy said it was still available. When I bought it the guy threw in all the extra stuff. I couldn't believe it and still don't. I keep expecting the light to blow up at any second lol. But it is actually brand spanking new!
@PurpFan
I suppose you'll be disappointed if you try your "bargain".
In fact, these lights are already outdated, which may be the reason for the low price.
You should have informed yourself a little longer, then you would have bought not such a colorful blurple, but a white LED light(which is the real full spectrum).
Maybe you can cancel the purchase? For the same money you get for sure enough F- or EB-strips and a suitable driver.

Not in a BILLION YEARS! I am already very, very familiar with Platinum Led lights already owning the previous P300 and P600 versions and these lights kick ass and take names, fingerprints, and DNA bro! This light costs over $500 and the Method 7 glasses are well, Method 7 glasses!!! How or why would I be disappointed coming up on all that stuff for only $120 bucks!!!

Well, I am not very familiar with Platinium LED's and also the magical method 7 glasses do not tell me anything. All I know is that you get better results with efficient white LEDs! Okay, $120 is cheap, but if they were that good, why are they so cheap? What are your gr./w numbers, if I may ask? Do you regularly reach +1.5g/w?

WHAT, no purple! ;)

Nice work Random.(: THAT is full spectrum.

Thanks, mate! It's actually ⅔ CRI80 + ⅓ CRI90. Unfortunately there are no CRI90 Sammy strips available, at least not with LM561c or LM301b, but these COB's are not far behind. Both, strips and COB's run with ~500/525mA, system effiency should be 2,5-2,6μMol/J.

Damn!!! 2.5??? Are you sure? That's darn good efficiency!

That's LM561C - A1/S6 - 3000K numbers @65mA. My F-strips run with 525-540mA, so with 58-60mA per diode!

VF: 2.9V (max)
Flux: 34.5 lm/W (min)
QER: 321.6 lm/W
LER: 4.86 µmol/J
-> 2.766 µmol/J

@Randomblame I have 6 Citi gen 5, 1212, 3000K 80CRI. Datasheet says 155 LPW, 47% efficiency and 2.29 umol/s at 1050mA. 103 PAR W.
It's worth to upgrade to Bridgelux gen2 strips or Samsung F/Q? Can you give me data like above for 240-1050mA driver please?

That's the numbers at nominal current for EBgen2 and F-strips(cherry picked from one of the EB-threads).

EB Series Gen2 3000K@700mA(43,75mA per diode)
QER=4.84 µmol/J
LER=331.66 lm/W
= 2.55 µmol/J
@1050mA it should be less, maybe 2,4-2,45μMol/J.

F-Series Gen3 3000K@1120mA(125mA per diode)
QER=4.86 µmol/J
LER=321.60 lm/W
= 2.54 µmol/J
@1050mA maybe 2,6μMol/J.

I would add a few F-strips and run the Citi COB's only with half current to bump up their effiency. You could use the same driver but run two parallel strings of 3 COB's and 4 F-strips is series. What driver do you use, constant current(C1050)?

Thank you for that info above. Have you numbers for LPW and efficiency at 1050mA?
Looks like Samsung F is winner here. I don't care about money, those lights will last 5-10 years so I am okay with that cost. I just want bump some efficiency and get better coverage.
Yes, CC driver. HLG-240H-C1050A.
I have seen your DIY light, great job. I want to add some 660 and 730 reds too, I was looking for them about 6 months. Now I take the decision with that and strips.

EDIT: oh, I am looking for 560mm strips!! I have 80x80cm tent.

With that driver(238v/1050mA) you could make two parallel strigs of 5 2ft. F-strips and 3 COB's. Each strip and COB would get 525mA, which is the same current I use with my strips. Digikey or Arrow should have them in stock.
