Do you just use a jigsaw to cut into the brute lid to fit the mesh lids?

No. We haven't. Is your electrician any good? Our initial bid was fucking ridiculous. $28k. 15..maybe...18..ok, but just get it the fuck done. 28k? I seriously almost told him to politely go eat a dick

We used a rotozip tool and a wood template. Much much faster and cleaner than a jigsaw.

Full built out in under 3 weeks. That's the plan anyway
 
Long day first flower room built out all that is left framing wide is the rim joist

I stood inside the room and starting laughing 35x25 and 10foot ceilings it's massive but will feel tiny with all the plants crammed in there

Well, after a very long and tiring week, both flower rooms and the veg room are completely framed up and ready for inspection.

City staff to inspect on Monday and the electrician and hvac guys show up to do their thing. With any luck we will have plants in there in two weeks :)

Ok, maybe three. To do list includes all the wiring, insulation, drywall and osb ceiling, install guide pIles for cages, pour new concrete landings for handicapped access, paint handicap parking slip, install all ballasts and bulbs, install blower fans, install plant cages, drill and grommet all dwc containers, hook up and debug monitoring system, install internet, replace all door locks, install emergency exit lights and signs, get the alarm guys lined out and.....I think that is it. :)

Nope. Just one of the more boring. I went from page 1 to here, and it doesn't appear as though I've missed anything interesting. On a scale of 1 - 10 I give legally a PLEASE!

Again, the apparent speed at which things are happening here is much different than what might be guessed at without the burdens of regulation and commercial codes.

they are making great progress and moving fairly quickly for all the red tape.

A more appropriate title would get less heat from all the disappointed visitors. This thread is setup to disappoint.

Bait people in by creating an expectation then fail to meet it, that deserves the flaming.

I was originally hoping to see a crappy grow box/tent go boom into pieces, lol.

Good point. Glaciers move at amazing speed- in geologic time, that is. To us, this seems agonizingly slow.

Lol at the visual of a frustrated grower taking his grow out with a bang!

True story.

Don't shit can the water chiller idea too fast there. Just because the I've boxes were toys and hooking them to lights was silly doesn't mean they aren't the killer app for cooling.

While you're thinking about your next round, think about costs- like the very biggest one being your power bill- even at commercial rates.

Running open vented rooms is commercial suicide because you can't control environment effectively, nor can you guarantee that it's free of pests or pollen. That leaves sealed as the clear choice for commercial ops- and it's at these larger scales that water chilling the environment- and your nutrient solutions too if you like- works best.

Furthermore, AC does not allow one to take advantage of Colorado's free cold all winter long- but water chilling does. 'Compressorless chillers' are merely radiators sitting outside with fans pulling ambient air thru them when it's cold. They can *easily and inexpensively* replace most if not all of your necessary cooling tonnage anytime the temperature drops outside- and the colder it gets, the more free tonnage you have access to.

I totally hear you on most crazy gadgets like led for a whole warehouse or solar panels. These cost a fortune up front and give small benefits that take forever to recoup. Water chilling is different; an additional 30% up front cost will net you monthly power savings of 30 - 85% depending on season. It pays for itself in just one season. It is far more flexible and upgradeable than AC and it controls RH better.
 
Look at your water situation, if you have a plentiful well you may want to consider drain to waste water cooling. It's dirt cheap and very effective where not prohibited due to water supply limits.
