Making organic peticides

ok, so basically heres my plan, i am growing chrysanthemum, tomato plants, marigold and various herbs and plants.

my plan is to extract tannin from various sources such as willow or oak with a broad spectrum solevent such as acetone to both preserve my spray and give it some more power against the bugs. then i plant on extracting marigold and tomato terpines and poison with ISO alcohol. then last but not least for more specific terpines and stuff that has goodys butane for things like rosemary and fennel and mint.

then i plant on making 3 mixtures with different ratio so as to eliminate bug resistance over time and keep them refridgerated.


what do you guy think does anybody have any experience with this type of thing? i know we all know how to make hash this is only one step away.


tannic acid will help to preserve mixes, and refrigeration to help too, at room temp i would only expect a mix to last 3 months at best.

Might work out fine..just make sure you look up the best solvent for each substance you are trying to find.

yep yep thats what i just spen time doing, i know acetone will be really good for tannin extraction other solevent will be too "picky" so to speak and you dont want too much tannins anyway this could prove fatal so you want a very diverse mix.

im unsure what i will use on the chrysaanthemum yet im thinking acetone or perhaps just pure dried powder of the plant.

as far as the tomatoes go i want the the smell and the oils but none of the sugars that they have this will just make it attract pest instead of detering them.

as for the rest im open to opinions, i got a pretty good idea of what im doing but all the chemicals in each plant are gonna act differently and take different extraction methods.

Tannins won't dissolve in acetone. Water will dissolve'm. cn

your right i will shred and pressure press the tannis out with water. trying to thing of a cheap efficient way to do this with little plant byproducts.....

i know your going to say make a tea next but heating the tannins will lowers it strength, i want a strong but light colored tannin mixture. i will have to figure out a way to separate some of the water too.

my newest find a pesticide called rotenone, similar to pyrethrins, but found in a hard to find platn so i may have some difficuty with this one

this is my updated list and the exaction solvent to be used;

chrysanthemum- Acetone
marigold- Alcohol
Tephrosia- Acetone
Mint-Alcohol
Cinnamon- Alcohol
Hot Peppers- Alcohol or Acetone possibly butane(been thinking of messing around and hard of people doing this already)
Tannins- will be "pressed thru screen with water and evaped
tomatoes- Acetone

this is pretty much the best way for extraction from my research due to chemical compatibility and preservation of chemicals. the only downside is possible heavy metals and contaminants from acetone, but i think the water added to make extracts should make such issues a non issue. dont know kind of winging it stilll waiting on plant materials will update as i learn more

I have found that no matter what derivative of pyrithrin I use, they become immune to it. Neem+Dawn works everytime. and 100% organic if you get the right dish soap.

who cares if its not "advanced" if it works? search calicleaner... straight habanero concentrate (pepper spray) works like a charm on sum mites ive had. not sure if it works on all/most pests tho. good luck.

capsaicin and that will be only one of my ingredients. im not looking for something that "works". i am looking for something that works and i can make cheap. if not just for myself. i have noticed the only kind of attention this thread has gotten has been negative and the only other people who have a slight clue of what im trying to achieve had not commented much, perhaps i should ask the mod to move this to concentrates and extracts...

tried it, it worked alright but caused some mold. so no i wont play with mighty wash again also, it just seems like snake oil. used a quart on 7 plants in 1 gal pots 2 treatments week before harvest lost some bud to mold still harvested a week later still had mites. lol this was a couple weeks ago too smoking the shitty ass bud right now.

i like how this one guy didnt want to call another guy a "douche" since it implies usefulness when properly used. so thank you for that, i guess. seems im "douching" you currently and in the correct way from what i can tell.

mighty wash didnt give your plants mold - your poor application did if you used it at all which i doubt as you are the ONLY person that has EVER claimed it did anything but LITERALLY EXPLODE AND MELT mites AND eggs

i have no doubts that the guy who came up with it did exactly the same thing you are doing.

other than giving a little rundown on the extraction process, how about some advice on controlling these pesky white flies on all outdoor plant species?

had those problems here along with the aphids on my out door plants hit them with some neem extract, hot pepper spray wont do shit to em and they will just wait for the oil to dry away.but the oil is good for the aphids. ciniimon spray has been doing me right recently although i wouldn't use it on my buds, less it was an extract or something really soluble in water. maybe a tea of cinnimin. i use just a teaspoon per quart or 2 with a little dish soap on my veggies been doing great.
