Kuwait isn't in enemy territory.......bit of a exaggeration.....next thing we know you will be spouting about Palin dodging sniper fire
I should have said a combat zone, staging area; where people wear flak jackets and ride in armored vehicles. But I would never create a fictional story about sniper fire and pass it off as the truth.

You had it right when you said staging area...........they don't wear flak jackets or helmets or ride in armored vehicles..........they go to burger king and ride in Toyotas and buses....def not a combat zone

Natrone ...

This is from the article:

"The mission of the Fort Benning infantry divisions is "to focus on the close, personal, violent Infantry fight," says Maj. Gen. Walter Wojdakowski, the chief of infantry.."

So, after the "staging area," what comes next?

Vi, since you never were in the military, I guess I could forgive your Hubris over this statement. Ft benning is a basic training facility and all soldiers must go through Basic training, even if they are going to be desk jockeys in a non-combat zone. So who knows where young Palin will end up. Most priveledged kids never go to combat zones, that's a known fact. Fact #1. George Bush.

Here's the latest Zogby poll numbers. Read it and weep, fish-breath:

The latest nationwide survey, begun Friday afternoon after the McCain announcement of Palin as running mate and completed mid-afternoon today, shows McCain/Palin at 47%, compared to 45% support for Obama/Biden.

And, it really doesn't matter to me weither the kid ends up in a combat zone or not. What matters is, his military service takes away the usual argument of the so called "progressives" that Republicans don't let their children go to Iraq. bongsmilie

I'm still trying to figure out how "old age" can take up residence in one's comprehension skills.
