I think the people in this thread will be excited to see what we are working on Sin420.

Keep that one hush hush till we can do a bad ass write up on it :)

Next op ill experiment with things I didn't get to do this time around ya know? A lil more experimentation with every grow until I find my niche! And we need the to share the knowledge brother! But I get not wanting to share experiments right away bcuz ppl hate and say this and that, but you never know who might already be doing what u wanna figure out ya know.
I figure I got soil and plant manipulation down for the most part but not quite as I need to dig into main lining. I figure once I know my soil and how to train the plants like the back of my hand, I'll work on cloning and breeding. I should be good at breeding lol I've got a good taste for bid taste hahaha

Actually, I asked you to help because you are much better at doing writeups and keeping things rather thorough. I'm already passed the testing stage and know what I'm doing but.. I think a good writeup on that would definitely be good karma for us on the board.

We will work on it though, no rush. I've already started a "do's and don'ts" list.

haha, secrets are no fun you guys
Well, to be honest... It sort of has to be a secret until the write up is done to avoid trolling. Reason being, what I'm doing currently with my plants is pretty much unheard of on RIU or any other forum so.. It's one of those subjects that will be quick to be critiqued.

Sin is a great writer and has great reference material so I think that once I explain real world application and he can figure out all the technical stuff for the trollers to read, we will be ready to post a full write up.

I was figuring somebody would feel some kinda way about that lol.
But I don't do secrets either lol. Like I said I'm here to learn and share what I know!
Bro just asked me to look into plant growth hormones with him lol. I have nothing to say about them at this point bcuz I haven't began to learn about them, but apparently he's already looking into it.
It's too much shit to learn lol so I break things down in parts ya dig!
Works better for me that way. Right now its the art of plant training and getting my soil right! Might be another year or two before I move on haha.
I got nothing but time to learn :joint:

And spread the knowledge :peace:

Tht would make MY day,Glad i got it in writting.
Now go tell about 500 more peeps, the same!!

Beechbongsmilie

Bra..........Really. C'mon man. #KNOWLEDGE! <-Drop that shit HERE! Fuck a rep point man.
Go back thru this thread and compare the things that you've both added. Go from there man :joint:

Yeah lol. I'm about to get him to delete all these DUMB ASS POSTS MAN!!!!
I'm saying....look thru all the things you've said on this thread vs. all the things Beech has said.
After you do that ask yourself who contributed more?
Its mind boggling that you can get that many rep points per day from my thread and I don't hahaha

Just cut the shit and drop the knowledge bro. Or the pics or somethings.
Its obvious you gotta prob with Beech on MY THREAD. That cool that you gotta problems with him,
but it's been obvious too long now. IDGAF about what issues ya'll got. You don't know him. He don't know you. That's that.
But he said he don't like what you stand for. In talking to him as much as I have you can sum that all up pretty much with you posting that you get 1000 rep points a day from this thread....I guess the question is why does that matter? As far as sharing info goes your losing. Badly. As far as sharing everything else else goes your way ahead....
I got toooooooooo much shit to learn man! It's too much I don't know. This thread will be over sooner and on to the next, so between now and then drop some knowledge or pics or info pertaining to the cause man. I'm not here for the rep. I'm here to work my mind out :joint:

Sounds like a great candidate for a small partition for veg and a 1000HPS on a light mover! lol

I hope you don't mind me chiming in, I had my share of PH issues when I first started gardening. Gypsum is a great addition to a garden because it doesn't contain nutes, but it does help the root zone to speed up the processing of organic materials for absorption. Basically, gypsum makes it so nutrients are made more readily available to the plants as they demand them. I think the concept they are trying to illustrate consists of two parts. First, the gypsum in soil also improves drainage, which makes a flush more effective. Second, the application of gypsum frees up unused organic sources of nitrogen, also making the soil more acidic. If I had alkali soil at 7.8, I would do ONE of these three things.

1. Let the soil dry completely, PH watering solution to 6.3-6.6 and top dress with compost or composted manure. Give a heavy watering with plenty of runoff after the dressing. By plenty I mean around 30% of the water you put in comes out the bottom of the pot. Filter runoff with a coffee filter and check the PH.
2. Apply sulfur, carefully. If it takes two or three waterings to reach your target, so be it. This is risky and you don't want to overdo it and go from too alkali to too acidic overnight. This is a touchy method, but also the most immediate method to make the soil more acidic. After sulfur is applied, filter runoff with a coffee filter and test the PH.
3. Flush - last resort - Take the volume of the container and multiply by three. Run this volume of PH adjusted watering solution through the plants. You could use gypsum here but i've never used it for a flush. Once flushed, feed at 50% strength appropriate to plant cycle and wait. The next time you water, filter your runoff with a coffee filter and test the PH.

I wouldn't be too concerned with 7.8 and I would opt for option one. The other methods would be appropriate if you were further out of range than you are currently. And if you're considering using citrus juice to lower your PH, it works great. I have a friend that opts for citrus juice over PH down and has had great success for a cpl of years. The trick is calculating how much you need for your amount of solution. Document the effectiveness to dial in your application levels. If you go too far, add a little baking soda. You could water with PH solution of about 6.3-6.6 until you get back into your desired range using method one.

Another note, MG soil is not recommended. Have you ever tested the PH of the MG soil? I'm curious what it is out of the bag. You did the right thing by cutting it with perlite! I would also cut it with some peat, coco or Foxfarm Light Warrior. This will help improve water retention, drainage, reduce the hotness of the MG soil and also lower the soil PH a tad. MG tends to get pretty hard, I learned the hard way that although its cheap and highly available from local vendors, that its just not worth the savings or the convenience without modifications.

Glad to hear your PH kit is on the way. Its probably the most essential tool for indoor gardening. bongsmilie

Lovely looking buds! What size of container is that in? I really like the spectrum of CMH bulbs. I ran a 400 CMH with a 600 HPS in a 4 x 4 and the results were good. The CMH doesn't stack up in lumens compared to HPS, but the more ideal spectrum seems to compensate for the compromise. The heat output is fractional compared to HPS, which I really liked in the summer. I didn't care for the beastly 400 magnetic ballast though. Do they have CMH that runs on digital yet?
This was Scottyballs PE Waterfarm.
Not sure about the digi yet.
