Looks good dude u took everyones advise reallly well and didnt make the common mistakes. No matter how many times u tell someone new to growing not to overwater or over feed they usually do it anyway lol. Ur plants are really comming along nicely good job resisting the urges haha. Give it about another week or two so then start ur co2. Id still suggest getting some nitrozime or superthrive for growth booster. Let ur pots dry out almost fully then pick up the pot and get a feel for how it weighs. Once u water it pick it up again and get a feel for the difference. Just remember ur plants are small u dont need t saturate the entire pot durng watering. Ur best off watering around the sides of the pot and forcing the roots to search for water.

Well...things were going great...and then my ballast decided to shit the bed...WTF. I feel like I've overcome much BS and beginner issues... now my ballast is done.I opened the tent to show the misses the plants...then I heard a "clink"...lights off... Thought it was the bulb, but after trying the HPS bulb I noticed the cooling fan wasnt spinning inside the ballast. Fuck. I checked the fuse...even switched it. Nothing...I called growace.com to let them know what's up...

The conversation boiled down to: they will ship me another one when mine gets to their office... so, the earliest I can ship is tomorrow. . . Ill be out of town tomorrow...Thanksgiving is Thursday. . .best case scenario they will get it midweek and I will have a new ballast in 2 weeks...Pretty pissed that they said if I wanted it faster I would have to pay for the shipping to get it here...meanwhile here I am on day 10 ...
no light for my plants - so I just lost 80$ in seeds. Lovely. Plugged in some CFL's but I'm not hopeful. So pissed about this...not to mention the companies lax attitude about helping a customer out.

Sorry to hear about your troubles. I hope the CLFs can hold you over well enough in the meantime.

Dont trip bro a couple cfls will hold u over fine. How long were lights out for? Its not the end of the world u wont lose ur seeds. Growth will be slow but they will survive

You could probably find a used ballast on craigslist for like 50$ just to have a spare. Then u could have mothers as well OR begin preveging ur seeds to go into flower tent. Just saying

CFLs should hold you over a few weeks, took me through 2 months veg. Hopefully you won't lose them.

Update.... I called growace.com back...got a different rep that was WAY more understanding (told me he was a grower too, so he way sympathetic to my situation) and actually did me a solid.

I had to pay a deposit for the ballast they are sending, and they will refund it once my new one shows up via FedEx 2 day!!

I am out 25 bones for the shipping. . . but they are sending another MH bulb for free in case mine blew when the ballast shorted out. Feeling better now, and glad I called them back ! Thanks for the support guys... I was pretty upset after putting all the work in...lol

Either way id suggest getting a second light for vegging 2 ft t5. That would allow you to preveg and have a backup

Is that the long tube fluorescent bulb? Any particular setup you care to recommend? Color temp at 2700k??

Looks great, I know guys who grow them all the time under CFLs till they are a foot tall, hang in there

6500 flourescent bulbs for vegging. Will save u a bit on electricity. Id never flower under a flouro. There isnt enough penetration and flower times end up being around 11 to 12 weeks. Quality wasnt as horrible as i was expecting.

I have a hydrofarm 8 lamp t5 that i sometimes preveg my clones under. I dont think u need that though lol. Ur only running a few plants which you can easily fit under a 2-4 light flouro. I set up a 1000w in a 8x6 mother tent that im doing my clones under now. Once my new mothers fill up that area ill have to preveg again under t5.
Im running almost 30 plants though in my flower room so i have alot more area to cover lol. The ones in the picture are platinum girlscout cookies just freshly planted in coco.

Those cfls are more than enough for now. Honestly u could skip the flouro and just preveg under the cfl's. Start your new seeds when u are at about week 3 or 4 of flower with ur current ones.

Alright guys...day 10. If you're following you know the situation. Ballast should be here tomorrow...assuming my MH bulb isn't fried, and FedEx express gets here before 2pm, I should be back up and running 100%. So here's what my Blueberry looks like today...

Leaves seem to be turned up... Anybody care to enlighten me as to why? I've been sparingly spritzing them, but since I transplanted I have not watered.

Also, anyone wanna guess if my bulb is good?? Filament looks okay...hmm

By turned up do you mean reaching towards light. Alot of the time when ur soil is not waterlogged they will reach up like that. Typically after a dark cycle it happens. They look fine bro lol. U just have first time grower wories any time ANYTHING happens lol, its normal. Do your best not to let water droplets sit in your leaves. They turn into small magnifying glasses like burning ants when you were a kid.

Ok i spell corrected this like 4 times hopefully it resembles english now. I cant type on this stupid phone keyboard.

Gosh they look fantastic to me

To repeat kcc420, the leaves reaching for the light is a good sign. Its like them waking up having had a fresh cup of coffee and they are ready to rock it.

Well if you look in the pic the first plants leaves they are tilted up (to the light), but curled in a bit. My first run of seeds didn't make it this far - so I am in new territory - of course I am worried about everything...it's not like I'm growing a weed or something...lol .

At any rate, you guys are in agreement that they look good, so I'm happy! Just hoping my equipment gets here early so I can get that aggressive growth rate back!
