To answer the question about using a 1000 watter, no I haven't. I wasn't trying to debate. I was pretty much saying the same thing you were, like when I said if you get the 1000w close to the canopy the penetration is greater. Sorry, if I came across argumentative. I agree with not wanting 3 hoods and ballasts and all in a tent, that would be a pain. How do you feel about using multi outlet ballasts? I've heard they can have drawbacks, like if it goes down then all your lights are down.

lol sorry lantern .. Guess I over reacted .. I had this same debate a 100 times with people and took it out on you lol .. but ya those dual 600 watt ballast are cool.. but like u said.. if it burns out.. you have no lights at all.. I have never used one of those but have seen em..

haha you all need to get together and smoke a few bowls, but you'll need to invite me as well :P

For my first grow I asked what would get me maximum light penetration and maximum yield. That's when I was advised to jump right into the 1000 watters over anything else. They aren't as efficient for the electrical bill, but the difference in yield will pay that bill no problem. After that it was up to me to choose with brand to go with. That's when I went Baddass crazyyyyyyyyyyy everything.

lol ya ..its a age old debate..One thing I will say is that the electric wasnt as bad as I anticipated.. even with my central air blasting 24 hrs a day.. since its a 100 + here right now and 2000 watts going 12/12.. 500 watts going 24/7 in veg closet.. plus about 9 fans running (inlines and oscilating ) PLUS we have 5 tvs in the house 4 computers.. 2 xbox's ... 2 100 watt floodlights running all night to keep the ghetto out.. washer and dryer ect ect ect.. my bill is about 300-380 a month. My grow added about 150-200 a month to the bill.. You figure I get a flower cycle every 2 months.. I just "donate" 2-3 zips a month at 150-200 and it covers all the electricity nutes soil ect. Easily justifies the exspenses

Word, grow covers all the bases. I hope more learn to pay those bills before they smoke it all up haha. That is quite a bit running too. Had the same situation (without the grow stuff though) bunch of TVs, computers and whatever. I want solar panels real bad. That might be the next big upgrade I save up for haha. I don't have enough room to grow with a 1000 watter just yet.

Well the thing with the bigger setups too is wiring .. I had a electrician friend of mine run 240 v all the way to my spare room with conduit .. a 1000 watt ballast pulls 9.5 amps .. which is ALOT on a 15 amp circuit.. doesnt leave much room for other things.. BUT at 240 my 1000 watter only pulls 4 amps.. SO I have a total of 8-9 amps on a 30 amp circuit.. I could plug in 6 1000 watters on that circuit if I wanted too.. BUT im not lol. It is tempting though!

and a little over a week later.. Turning into a nice bush with lots of tops :)

I'd have to agree with steezz. That Alien OG looks trans-dimensional such a pretty green girl.

The Blue Dream almost made me cry. If you wanna know why go read my new update :}. The fluorescence on that cola...really really sexy. Tops the Hindu (still love teh Hindu). I can't wait for your advice on my girls. Yep, got 4 Blues in OA. Oh man, it gave me such...Hope!

Originally I was going to have the same thing done to my wiring. The 240 wire is there, but I don't have the relay needed to run both ballasts off my timer. Now that I'm moving I'm not going to bother with it. 240 is definitely the way to go for us 1000w guys...

Just checking in and everything looks great. I lucked out with power cause my whole basement was wired 240. I guess it was because the only thing down there was the washer and dryer until Finished it. My contractor had a hell of a time with that. Summer, making bring in the humidifier.

Dubbz I just put in multiple 240 outlets.. and have a timer on each light.. I have them staggered about 5 mins.. so that the initial amp draw is spread out.. I have 2 more outlets not being used.. SOOO TEMPTING lol ..
