Hey there, tried posting before but no replies.
Im currently running just a 400W HPS, in a closet.
I've currently got 3 on the go.
The two biggest both have two sets of leaves. biggest looks good, but the second set of leaves are curled a bit but they've only been out for 2 days.

and the third I think looks fine.
I will post pictures later.
I'm just wondering if anyone can give me a list of a few things I can get but would be cheap.
I want to know Everything quite literally.
First hand knowledge is the best.

First, I would get a thermometer. Considering the fact that you did not mention the temperature of your grow area, I am assuming you are not keeping track of the grow area temperature. Another reason I bring this up is you mentioned that you are getting some curling of the leaves. This could be caused by high temperatures. Now, if this is the issue, you should, at a minimum, invest in a circulating fan to blow air around. For $5-10 you can get small fans but, depending on the heat issues you might have, a larger fan might be what you need.

First, the 400 watt hps may be a bit too much for your babies right from sprout... How old are they? How close is the light? If that light is less than a foot away from your babies, move it up NOW!! keep it around 12-18 inches away or you will burn the hell out of them... Trust me, i know from experience and i've only got a 250 watt hps...

As far as cheap things to buy... I'm using a couple cheap fans from Wal-Mart ($5.99)... Use distilled water if you don't plan on testing your tap waters pH... W/ the 400 watt, you're probably going to need some ventilation, if you don't have it allready... Some ducting and a small duct fan is relatively cheap and effective... Research the forum/faq, there is a lot of DIY setups... A cheap moisture meter may be helpful if you're not really sure when to water... They run about $10, depending on the brand.. I've you can't afford mylar to line the room, emergency blankets are a less effective alternative that are cheap.. You can find them in the sporting goods section.. They're folded up in a real small package, so unfortunantly you'll have a lot of creases in it... I just wrapped the blanket around large pieces of a cardboard, pulling it real tight (getting out all the kinks) before taping it.. Then you can just nail the cardboard pieces onto the wall.. Worked for me atleast...

Shnap. Uhm, i'd say the temperature in the closet is in around 20-25C.
Right now they are also just little plant's both bigger ones are about an inch and a half. And i've got them about a foot away from the light.

Soil I don't even know. I just used some Unused soil of my mom's. She left a big tote here full of it.
It's dark brown, with styrafoam in it, but my guess of what it is.
Also with some sort of small wooden beads.

As for Ventilation and what not, i've gotta keep it REAL discreet. I know not such a smart Idea. I just wanted some first hand work on some seedlings for my first.
I was thinking about buyin' some kind of a clip on fan.
