My First grow

Thanks man, Yea i'm just trying to open the insides, seems to be taking longer than i anticipated, so any calender dates i did have were trashed.

3 weeks veg, so far 3 weeks flower.....and still not 100% sure on the gender. But i'm hopeing that i will get some massive buds from those inner nodal areas. Seems like the tertiary growth is really coming in.

Main shoot is about 6" long out of the ground. where i topped it.
I 6 have primary heads about 2" up the main stalk which area about 12-15" long.
Longest secondary growth off the 6 heads is about 2.5" long.

I would have had 8 heads but during my tying of the plant before flower, i accidentally tore off the top 2 heads where i topped it. I was a huge mistake, and i know my yield could have been more having 8 heads instead of 6. But 6 is perfectly fine with me.

I guess it'll be an easy few weeks before buds start forming.

Any ideas why i'm not 100% sure on sex?

Tried to get the best picture of a few parts of the plant to mabey help figure it out.....Seems female to me, but just looks very underdeveloped. Mabey you all can help me judge. Also a up close of the longest largest head for the last picture. Seems like it should have shown a week ago or more.

Any ideas on gender or phenotype?

Yes actually have a 15x jewlers loop that i used taking the picture (Using it as the magnifier for the camera is the only way i can get decent macro pics. Its still no more visible than in those pictures with the 15x loop.

I dont think that is Sex yet, that is just a new set of growth, I had the same issue and then it turned out to be a male 2 weeks later.

Not something i really want to hear right now, but if it is then it is.

hopefully hairs will show and we'll know before long. Time will tell, i just damn well figured it'd be already lol.

I know, I didnt want to hear it either, heck, my plant fit a female profile to my eyes, short, very compact and bushy.

yea i dont see anything definitive yet but that also means its not definitely a male so look on the bright side. lol. are u sure that theyre getting 12 hours of COMPLETE darkness? cuz if they dont get that, they get all confused about wut season it is and wut theyre supposed to be doing

Little update for today.

Still nothing more than the last pictures as far as sex goes. Hopeing and praying that it'll keep going the way it has.....and keeps showing girl.

Mabey by monday.

Anyway still letting the top open for light and inner growth seems to be doing very well. My innner growth is starting to pick up nicely, will need to start controlling it in a week or so if growth continues.

Smell is no worse than it was a few days ago. My other small plant is beginning to smell as well. Went out today to get something better for odor control other than the carbon scrubbers, etc. Decided on some Odor absorbing gel. Is it ok that i put it inside the cabinet, its orange or citrus scented. I wonder if it will coat surfaces with a waxy smell layer.

I simply want to use it if smells get out of control, IE opening my box for looking, etc or swapping out filters, just for a safety blanket.

hey metal, looking very nice. good job....keep taking care of them and all those 5-blade leaves will be a thing of the past and ur plant will start developing a lot more 7-9blade leaves. its usually a sign of good growing conditions. nonetheless, much love and great job man.

p.s. i like how u plan ahead for unforeseeable complications.

Thanks for the complements Noble,

Majority if not all of my leaves are now 7+ prongs, some of the lower leaves are still 5 pronged, but slowly plucking them below the canopy that are getting very little light.

Odor gel seems to be doing very well covering up any odors when i open the box. I also resituated the circulation fan which was below the canopy, and moved it higher above the canopy to move the hot air away and blow directly across the top of the screen.........Yesterday it peaked above the canopy at 97F, without my UVB, 6 lights. Moved it last night, lights have been on for almost 4hrs, temp with all 7 lights including UVB is steady 85F, though it is sorta rainy outside....This may have something to do with it. But seems very good solution as of now. to the heat above the canopy......Dropped my AC from 82 to 81, and the box dropped from 85-84F.....Thats gotta mean something good for the plant! And hopefully this will make her show more defiantly.

As far as sex goes a few of the female cones look like they could be splitting, or my eyes are playing tricks on me.

Here is as close as i could get, my cameras got horrible macro settings, so i used my 15x loop and zoom on my camera. This is the best picture i could get.....It'll have to do. Notice my use of LST and the combination of 3-4 training methods........Ties and Burlap(Hemp).

I will admit i've never seen anyone train a plant this wierd, or complex.....Mabey it'll be help for someone in the future.

Back from a weekend away......with gooooooood news :D

Inner nodal growth is picking up.......

And she finally is showing hairs

What shall i name her????

Was away from sat morning to monday afternoon. Temp low while gone was 78F. High temp of 86F. 86F was when i turned my uvb on when i got back. Was steady 85F high.

I'm getting very happy....and hoping yield with be an Onion+. That would make me very happy. :D

Question though is, is there any reason why that single head is showing girl, but none of the others are up to speed, mabey 5 days behind or so. And that head was from the lowest pair. But the inner nodal growths are picking up nicely. And one is about 6" long right in the dead center of the first picture.

Also my screen is becoming very conjested, should i pull the leaves i tucked under back up to the top.......will this speed growth more??? But also cover up the inner nodal growths???

its normal for them to be slower on different leaves i wouldn't worry

just be prepared to harvest the girl in parts then

I'd be more than happy to harvest in parts,........depending on how they all mature. Shit i just want to harvest one for myself, and just know that i successfully grew some pretty decent herb for myself, and hopefully i can keep my cache for a good 2mnths which is what i'm aiming for. Saving alot of money for myself.

Does harvesting it in levels take anything away from the growth, ie viral conditions on the cut ends???? that could take away from the later harvests...??

I also think my little guy right beside it may be a little boy, i'll post some picture up later of it, its balls arn't very formed if it is.... he's been 12/12 since a few days after birth. But i'd like to get him out of there soon if its infact a boy...........No cross polination here as its just beast seed.

Any thought of possible yield based on the canopy cover, its all personal and not selling much if any? its 15"x13" so just a little over a sq ft. Yea i know its hard to say at this point, ie no buddage in yet, but based on how many possible bud spots......Which i still cannot count, just too many. :D

6-8 weeks i'm hoping.......hopefully no longer than that. But it'll be ready when its ready...no rush!

liking the LST mang
Thanks bro, its pretty hardcore training, just easy does it.

Should i fluff the leaves up, or leave them pulled under the screen.....

Not sure if it would speed it up and just take light from the nodes. Any ideas?

Also have considered taking a single clone, so that i know its a girl, and no more messing with sex, since i think the other small one i have is probobly a boy...

And the money shot......looks like a dude to me......instead of a cone, looks like a clove, 3-4 balls on a clove body.....Am i right, i need to get rid of it as quick as possible if thats the case.....i'll drop it off somewhere in the woods......:( might be a hermi though based on the cone shape above the clove shapes on the node above it.....?

So what do ya say?

harvesting in parts doesn't hurt the plant as long as you harvest close together

like do the total harvest in 3 days, but any longer then that and i dunno... but really i wouldn't worry you wont have a problem, they catch up
