Im in Mumbai & Im growing Blue widow outdoor from Attitude. its about 8 weeks(still vegging) old, ive used a branded soil premix available here 30%peat moss, 30%perlite, 30% Vermiculite, am using Nutes from Advanced Nutrients, Iguana Grow/Bloom & Bud factor X. looks good so far but need more gyan on micro nutes.... try some sativa strains they are better for our climate u must rethink the sand in the mix instead go for rounded pebbles from quarries, what nutes are u using ?

You could add sevin dust to your list (5% Carbayl). As long as it dosnt get wet it will keep anything that crawls from getting to your plants. Just create a solid border around each plant. It is safe for vegetable gardens.

i know sativas are better...but i want to smoke both. i want both man so i'm growing both.

Is there a smell difference between your indica plant's flower and sativa flowers while its flowering?

I know that quality strains advertise "fruity, floral, spicy, skunky" and so on. Is this difference noticeable with your grow, now that you have landrace, indica, and sativas?

My landrace doesn't smell at all yet. It does smell if I rub its stem with my finger, and immediately smell my finger, though.

the landraces will take more time to develop the smell as their flowering period can extend beyond 4-5 months. there is a different smell for each and every plant that i'm growing. one of the mandalas is lemony, one is very pine-earth like, the blue widow is not like anything i can really relate to, the skunk is just...skunky, and my two mr.nice sativas are pretty mango like in smell. i have an indian one which smells strongly of a fruity paan rasna kind of thing, but the rest smell like different types of mango, you know?

and yes the seeds from seedbanks smell more, but that's partly because they're way way further ahead in their flowering cycle - relatively.

I understood the different strains of mango smelling different You can understand all are mangoes even if you don't know which one is alphonso, which one is neelum, ans so on

But, from the smells you said, one is lemony, one is pine earth, one is skunky(never seen or smelled skunk) and one is rasna.
None of these are weed smell!! I mean, the plant will never smell like that intense smell we get when we smoke a J? If it doesn't, why should there be a fear? I'm confused

Okay. So these floral/spicy/pine/lemony smells are like undertones over a master smell which is the typical weed smell?
I was searching for answers online as my plants are already flowering, just in 3rd or 4th week I was stressed as to how would it smell whenever the terpenes start developing towards the end of flowering stage.

4-5 months to flower is what you said for landrace sativas, which is really bad as me and wifey are planning to move back to bangalore soon
Just confused as to which part of bangalore to choose as a place to stay. Koramangala and Indiranagar are what we had found out to be 'greener'
A greenery filled area is a must as I intend to grow in bangalore too

From your viewpoint, which one is better, apartments(with balcony) or individual houses(with garden-able area)?

lol neither are suitable areas for growing imo unless you have a really big house in either location, which can cost you generally upwards of 1.5cr in koramangala and 3cr in indiranagar. 'green' areas would be limited to south bangalore...and maybe further up north closer to the airport...apart from south bangalore pretty much all the outskirts are 'green'...
apartments with balcony depends primarily on direction (sunlight) and ease of vision (from other balconies).
independent house depends on the houses around you/ppl on the road being able to see.
i feel independent house is better for growing cause you can spend a bit and do some random construction on the terrace/wherever
whether its temporary or permanent and shield your plants from neighbours' eyes somehow...but you'll also have to worry
about security, power backup, etc, things you don't have to worry about in an apt.
if you can find a gated community with villas/row homes like mine, nothing like it

When I was a bachelor, and was living with roomies, it was indiranagar and koramangala that I had stayed. And starting with the 'morning joint' till 'sweet dreams joint' we were smoking throughout

Before coming to kerala, me and wifey had gone for walks looking for good places, I remember somewhere near 100 feet road or 80 feet road, it was all green! huge old trees lining up the sides
Every single property in this area was a house, though not a gated community. And I'm not sure if anyone would be renting out villas as usually people save money and just buy it

I will be growing under the sun, so no power backup issues

Anyways, its really difficult to search for houses/apartments while we are in kerala, and its stupid to walk around bangalore asking "is it for rent?" after we land there

are better or worse than others...you asked about a green locality with more lush greenery so i suggested
those kinds of areas to you. indi and kora are not places with lush greenery, indiranagar less so.

it makes more sense coming to bangalore and finding a place to rent over the course of a week or so...

there will never be villas in indiranagar, but 3-5 km from there, there's plenty of villas and gated communities...

villas are often for rent, but unless you're willing to start the price negotiation at 50k a month
for a small 3 bhk villa, there's no point...

I was in bangalore till last year May/June. So, it should be my lack of knowledge about real estate market.

We were staying at a relative's place for nearly a month till we found a place to stay. Wifey was working in a company at that time, and preferred to stay somewhere near the company location itself, so we took a place near old airport road.
But now we both work freelance, so there isn't really any limiting factor about location.
But that relative got transferred to another state, so that option of staying till finding a place isn't there anymore. So, hotel stay would be the option.
Not sure how it would work out as I don't think hotels would have some option to keep our things till we move like fridge, washing machine, a/c and such

I've asked a friend of mine living in indiranagr to find a broker to give an intro about me, and to search for a place. I will let you know how it goes

Though I'm from kerala, I felt that trees on both sides of the roads and lanes gave indiranagar and koramangala a greener look.
This is just because the trees are big and the the canopy of the left side trees will touch the right side tree canopy and creates a sort of arch with shade under it

Power backup can be expected only in apartments, so I might have to get inverter(electronic power generator).
50K a month is the double of what I had in my mind, so I'll have to let go of villas in that case

it'd make more sense for one of you to come down for a couple days find a place finalize everything and
then move...you can find good places in sarjapur/bellandur that meet your requirements...also in whitefield...
and then there are nice apartments on the other end of the town in hebbal/yelahanka which is also an option...
apartments shouldn't pose a growing issue, you will probably have to use a mesh or shade net to cover the
balcony though so it's hard to tell what's actually growing behind it...

Whitefield. Isn't that really far from the centre of the city?? I mean, one of my relative's bought an apartment there as his company was in whitefield, though he is currently in US for some official project for 1.5 years. I remember him saying its pretty far and take house in whitefield only if my company is in whitefield.

By 'mesh' I hope you meant that green net like thing people use for terrace gardens? Thats a good thing if put vertically across the balcony instead of the usual above the plants

palm meadows is in whitefield...but just because that place is 2.5 L per month rent doesn't reflect on the area, it's one of a select few complexes in bangalore that has that kind of rent...really has nothing to do with the area...

well buddy bangalore is expanding rapidly, i'm not so sure there's any good reason to be near the 'centre' of the city really cause there's nothing special that's there that isn't anywhere else...

by mesh i mean either shade net (green net) or an actual fine metal mesh.
