My pineapple chunk ...DIY Wick System .. who knows ??

Well I've been a little busy, but thought I would update where I am at the moment. I have decided I would leave all the branches on and see what happens. Today I switched the light to 12/12 starting the diminishing light timing, since I run 12-1 for all the veg. The girls are looking nice and green and have huge sunleaves , showing the true indica coming thru I think.

still just feeding pureblend pro grow and calmag+ , I will start to gradually change to the flower ferts in the next week or two

yeah dood chop those branches and clone them. no need to waste anything. and besides if the clones fail who cares they were going to be garbage anyway, right?

i'm excited to see these grow out. i got one as a freebie, but id like to know how intense the odor is during flowering. i've read a review saying its pretty hard to keep the smell down. that's kind of a major concern of mine

Well I can tell you that the odor level increases as they get older and they have smelled since the first set of leaves .. kind of a spicy/skunky smell.


I understand your point Chummerbum, but i'm tired of cloneing lol and have decided to grow just seeds. But I am still considering it, and figure I have a week to decide for sure without over stressing the little ones. But thanks for the stopby

So I have been looking around the threads and looked at the pics of PC that others have grown and found that most don't look at all like the ones I have. A lot have a very heavy sativa qualities .. long, lanky, narrow leaf sets, etc.

I haven't seen many with the heavy indica dom. that mine is showing?

Any thoughts?

Hmmm ... well since the loss from the hack, here is what the jungle looks like today .. 35days into flower

very pungent fruity/spicy smell ... buds are starting to frost up nicely

Haven't seen any yellowing of the bottom leaves yet, but with the weird growth spurt some of the buds are burnt being too close to the light , so I either vegged too long or didnt trim enough lol or both lol

Hey there bro, yeah that hack was total suckage!

Your plant seems to be going well, I'm at day 20 of flower and my buds are just starting to show up! Interesting to see where I will be at day 35 compared to you :P

I seem to be having a lot of yellowing below the screen, lights not getting through.

Thanks GunRunner ... yours do look thicker, but then again it is a scrog so I would say it must be like you say "light not getting thru" . Might try a little more nitrogen, could be a possibility too.

Well here is some new pics at the end of week 6. They do seem to be filling out well , haven't seen any hairs turning but still has a few weeks to go.. time will tell I guess.

Another week has gone by in my little jungle, the ladies are 50 days in flower now. The buds are filling out nicely, nice and solid, glistening with resins. The piney smell has been overcome with a thick sweet smell, almost like a deisel but lighter?
The specs. on the seeds say they finish at 56 days but I think it will be a week or 2 after that ... Anyone have other thoughts ????

I think they are looking great. I'm growing a freebie Pineapple Chunk that's looks like an indica to me that is on day 60 of 12/12, and I plan on chopping it in about 3-4 days. This is my 1st time growing a PC, but I like it alot. It smells sweet and fruity and is pretty frosty. It has a skunky undertone to it too. The fruity smell does remind me of pineapples so I can see where they get the name from. I'm looking forward to smoking it after a good cure. I thought I would take a few bud shots and hopefully someone can tell me how close they are to harvest. The trics are about 90% still clear.. well as far as my old eyes can tell ...

Well here we are at day 58, I'm gonna leave them another week or 2, since I cant see thru a loop anymore it will be just a guess this time. I'm just watering with Ph'd water, hopefully I didn't stop the ferts too soon, but I dont have any yellowing of the leaves as of yet. Having a problem seeing the plants at the back since the jungle took over, but from what I can see they do look pretty lol. The buds are rock hard and seems to be more and more frost on them.

Day 64 in the jungle lol I donno, can't wait for the microscope :wall: , but I don't imagine it will be here in time. Still think a week or so now before they will be ready.

Well after checking and checking I finally decided to chop at day 68, but I am going to stagger the cut and try the days of darkness that some people are using supposedly to increase weight. Using one plant as a base since they are all the same age and strain it should give me a good idea if it works at all. I cut one down 2 days ago, without any dark days, and just cut another after 2 days of darkness, and the third one I will chop tomorrow after 3 days of dark, just to see for myself if there is a difference.

how did you get on?? was there much of a difference with the added dark period b4 cropping the plants?

this thread was an enjoyable read btw
