I dont have a ton of experience, but from what I have read thats a good idea. Usually the products these companies work together to offer you the 'complete package', where mixing nutes and soils might give you too much or too little of something if the companies had different ideas/opinions on what the products needed to offer.
My plan has been to use the Jacks Classic and Bloom but I read that putting synthetic nutrients in soil actually kills off the bacteria in the soil I believe. I also have the Earth Juice organic line of nutes from my first attempt with using promix. I think I'll eventually go back to promix now that I know that my failed attempt to grow weed was because of my impatience. Anyway, I have the Earth Juice and I was also thinking about getting fox farm nutes since I'm growing in their soil. What ya's think?

You can used just the Earth Juice original line in Fox Farm soil (such as Ocean Forest), and you should do fine. Make sure you add at least 1 tbsp of pulverized lime stone per gallon of mix (prior to planting, unless using very hard tap water). That will supply Calcium (and Mg if dolomitic) and prevent the pH of the soil from plummeting. You do not need to use pH up with EJ nutrients (just like the feeding chart says). Fetigation solutions will be acidic, but don't let that bother you (pH will rise naturally over time).

You can also aerate your fertigation solution with an aquarium air-pump/stone for 36-72 hours before using. This will cause the pH of the solution to rise as beneficial microbes in the product multiply. All you really need is the Grow, Bloom, Catalyst and some blackstrap molasses. Microblast is good for foliar application/treating micro-nutrient deficiencies but it isn't really a necessity in quality soil.

Cool, yea, I'll start feeding Earth Juice at quarter strength next watering. My plants are in their final 3 gallon pots, but I have General Organics Cal Mag Supplement when needed. So far the fox farm soil has given them everything they need. I germinated in the light warrior and it turned out perfect.

Oops, I made the mistake of checking in on my plants with a buzz. My northern lights plant was as limp as a penis after intercourse. I grabbed the bucket of water and watered all three of them. Then I realized that I forgot to adjust the ph. The tap water ph left in the bucket was 8.5, but my run off water was 6.2. Isn't the run off water ph more important? Lesson learned.
