keep it moist sometimes even spray a fine mist on top of the substrate. Just a tiny mist nothing major and the mist should have a couple tsp's of hydrogen peroxide to a cup of water.

also do you give it any light. Pinning happens from a little bit of light and good oxygen flow. Like wheni grew i made sure there was 30 minutes of light via a 60 watt bulb and also temps of around 75-80, with good air flow. all keys for the mycelium to pin.

the major thing is the air flow, without it Co2 levels stay high and mycelium will continue to grow rather then pin. When i first started growing i had that as a problem, my casings would just continue to grow white with no pins. Then i cut 4 2 inch holes in the side of my chamber and used those giant bandaids to cover them. This will allow the co2 to leak out and airflow to take place. Man I got to say there is a big learning curve when growing shrooms. Sometimes you may even have a cake that is solid white and think its going well but bam turns out to be a mold that looks exactly like mycelium

yeah i got a 65w cfl bulb 6500k in color
and yes i have it open and it seems like mycelium is growing still thats what i think it is so what do i do ? because its growing over the verm from the roll method

whats your air flow condition. I would say that you need to increase the oxygen flow. Thats simple just cut 4 holes in your birthing chamber and cover those holes with these band aids. They are the big ones. The holes should be cut 2 on one side two on the opposite side. Also disinfect the area before cutting with rubbing alchohol.

if i do that then the humidity wont raise it will drop. and thats not good using the perlite method and etc

they will pin if they are not already. when you dunk and roll your mycelium will grow over the vermiculite you rolled it in. it took mine almost 2 weeks to start pinning with the shotgun tek. dont worry about airflow as long as you followed the directions to make a shotgun terrarium it will work what is your humidity sitting at?

here is some pics of mine right before pinning and right as they began to pin if it helps.

in your first two pics did they end up pinning. the third pic looks great cause it doesnt have the think mycelium growth on the outside.

NOW help me out "NELLYATCHA"...

CHECK out my thread "Complete Pictorial & Editorial Mushroom Grow!"

Inoculated my jars on a Sunday afternoon and stored them in a dark and warm incubator...and its friday now and nothing yet! I used the pf tek verm/brf method... should I be worried?

give them time. did you knock them up on the edge of the jar or more in the midle? if in the midle they could be growing and you wont see it till it reaches the outer rim.

heres some of my babies for another reference point. he is right though if conditions are good it will take 2 weeks for pinning, but usually the thick white mycelium that looks like cotton means the conditions are a little off.

my humidity is at about 90+ temp at 79 colinized at 84 degrees

waiting for them to pin sucks so bad. once they do in a couple days youll have mushrooms. i felt like i was doing everything wrong right before they started pinning. i know what your going through just relax and give it a few days. and make sure to take notes of all this for future grows.

what size drill bit did you use on the terrarium? and how much perlite is in it? your humidity is a little low. to bring it up you can put some tape over a few of the holes till it adjusts.

i used 1/8 and just made lots of holes all over the place and i mean lots. and i covered the holes as well and im using a 30qt rubbermaid bin its clear daylight blue so its getting spectrum. and i figgured it out its just like the pics its primordia

nice. did you dunk them for 24 hours? it will help the flushes alot. also dunk them after each flush the water will help you get bigger mushrooms.

no dunking for 24 hrs is over kill because its going to ony obsorb like 10oz of water max and it can do that within 6-12 hrs. and i know im going to dunk after each flush.
