New House, Need New Setup

Hey guys,

so i just moved into a new house and the basement is looking pretty good for a decent setup. hoping for some good advice/suggestions on how to set it up.

first off, the basement is a little oddly shaped, to put it into your head, think of a cross but without the long downward pointing part or a + without the "south" line. each of these is about 6x6. My original plan was to have mothers growing in one and have some setup in each of the others.

To give you some background this will be my third grow. Last setup i didnt have much space and just had two AK-48 and one Low Rider under a 600w. All three were in 5gal buckets with 2 air stones in each bucket used GH nutes, bloom, micro, grow, florablend and koolbloom.

I got about 4-5oz from those three for the first time growing in hydro.

This time i want to do everything right. All of my buds were light and fluffy and no where near as dense as weed i usually buy.

So basically im looking for suggestions for everything
-seeds
-setup (aero, flood etc)
-probably get 1000w light

budget is about $1500. Looking into possibly making a 36 site aeroflow myself but need some good directions.

let some ideas fly!

thanks guys i appreciate it in advance!!!

Hey buddy.... id love to make some suggestions... i so agree u should make an aeroflow... i have a 90 siter :) build that bitch myself ... i wish i could post u pics but im in the boonies w no internet... i just am dedicated to riu thru slow ass cell service... building an aeroflow is so easy .... u can use pvc fence posts and caps from home depot... or 6" pvc tube... drill 2.75 inch holes for 3" net cups... (when driilling run drill in reverse you have to melt thru the pvc trying to chew thru w a hole saw will crack the tubes!). Cut 1.25" holes at one end on the underside for drain holes.. isert 1" id rubber gromet and 1 pvc tube in hole... this allows u to control ur water level... but 1" pvc couplings to raise water level for young plants. The tubes empty right over the res that u can prolly make from a big rubbermaid toat for a 36 siter... use a sump pump and off it run 1" pvc or spa hose up then fork it however to accomidate ur room.. i used more of an NFT system bc of my long 15' tubes but you can reduce the line out of the pump from 1" to 3/8 w some hose and washer flex line all of which u can find at home depot.... so here is the trick to suspending the line in the tube ... buy largwr pvc rhen ur wqter line and cut littler 1" sections... get some flush head self tapping screws like 3/4" and suspend the little pvc rings in the lager tube w the screws next to the holes for ur pot sites. If u want u can drill 1/16" holes in ur watter line and cap it at the end and have lil jets at each pot site.. and u can do this prolly w a 36 siter but the futher u pump ur water the less pressure so i had to 86 the holes and i pump my nutes all the way to the end of the tube and just let it fill up... the jets if you can swing the idea super duper airates the nutes but so does the free fall draining... ive used this setup several times . I did run the pump 24/7 like straight up NFT but i found a feeding every hr keeps the roots moist and actuall kinda helps cuz the roots get good O2 exposure time... and pretty much lastly when you build legs to hold ur tubes obviously make the far end like 6" higher for the drainage.there is a quick and dirty... hit me back if u have ?s hope i helped...

darnit i did have a longer post but it never posted and got deleted.

so ill make this short since i dont feel like writing it all over again

thanks token for the info, some pictures would be great but i understand your situation, anyone have a website or anything with some pictures of creating a system like this?

also i have been thinking of doing the ebb n flow and doing everything like in the thread "harvest a pound every 3 weeks"

Hey godfather, can you describe the size of the spaces please, if I understand you correctly you have 4 equal sized spaces opposite each other, I'm assuming one of them is where you would enter from, depending on the size of each cavity and considering one may be an entrance you would have 3 equal spaces?? I would suggest making a veg/mother room in one and the two others would be flip flop perpetual flower rooms. I too have constructed my own aero systems by utilising a nutriculture ebb&flood 4x4 system and added my own table and constructed my own aero delivery system.

I suppose we need to know what sort of space you have to work with before suggesting a system but having started with aero I can honestly say I will never go back, I've tried flood and drain but prefer aero. Each to their own though I suppose, everyone will have valid reasons for choosing their method.

after doing some more research it seems that every ones thoughts are the same as yours. everyone loves aero.

i am away from the house right now but ill be back tomorrow and get some measurements. ill also work on a blueprint of the room with MS paint. from there i will be better able to get some ideas from you guys on which seeds, lights etc etc

thanks guys

are goal was to do the "pound every three weeks" method. obviously if we could even get close to a pound every couple weeks that would be cool, maybe about 5oz a month or more?

5oz a month is easily achieved, do you want to do a SOG method or do you want fewer large bushes, you could do 9 or 12 large bushes in the larger space and have them under verticals, the smaller of the rooms could be for vegging them and the cuttings section/mother plants would stay the same.

Yes you could do SOG but you have enough space to do a perpetual large bush vertical grow which would be a fantastic yielding system and less work than SOG. I'm thinking you could just do passive hydro or "hempy buckets", save you a lot of money in the outlay as well.

We have thought about that and that's what we ended up doing last grow was just making some bit bushes. Thus time I would like to try sog and be able to harvest something frequently so we don't have a couple month dry spell in between.

I guess even just doing a 36 site aeroflow and then just refill it with clones after the first havest but still thats 8-10 weeks without weed unless we pulled off enough that we could make it last that long

You can perpetual large bushes just as easily, just need to keep the cycle going, clone and then into veg and the flower room just keeps churning them out. Nothing changes except the timings of your cloning and vegging. You can also do this in aero as well.

But if you want to SOG then it's pretty simple, start looking for the right system to go with, i know there will be plenty that say go DIY but I would suggest buying a system first time round.

You should go to a hydro store that has one, check it out and just duplicate it. I have different aero tables to these, I dont like them, too inaccessible if anything gets blocked.

Space is another, it flowers in 6-7 weeks for the perpetual, the church from GHSC is also very good and easy to grow with big yields. Mostly you want a plant that is going to adapt to single cola growth very easily IMO in SOG.

Try this site for a strain, put in your search criteria and it will pop up all the relevant strains and where to get them including stock and price, check the seed cop +radar for specials as well.

ok so i think ive gotten my plan figured out

I ordered 10 Medi bud seeds, 10 Ice seeds

We are copying this grow setup, just each tube will be around 6' long and were going to run 4-6 6" pipes wide
http://how-to-grow-cannabis.info/grow/growing/marijuana-cannabis-growers-almanac-FAQ-1668.html

as in the picture above, the left room will be the mother room, the middle the SOG room and right just a little clone room

we are thinking a 6" inline fan with tall boy filter for the SOG room would that be enough (430cfm?) also what size pump should we get? what size reservoir?

heres my list so far

Aeroponic System
-(6) 6”x10’ PVC pipe
-(6) 1”x10’ PVC pipe
-(4) 1” Tee
-(2) 1” Elbows
-(12) 6” End caps
-(12) 6” Band clamps
-(6) 1” End caps
-(2) Saw horses
-(1) 8’ x 8’ board
-360* Sprayers
-3.5” Hole saw
-(60) 3.5” net pots

Ok guys two questions

1) would a 1450gph sump work?

2) what would be something to screw into the 3/4" pipe and the 6" pipe to screw the misers into?
