i will just check on the feeding program and change it as and when it needs it, at the moment its 1 x 15m feed per day which looks adequate.
thanks lads for all your info, its been a real help
im going to sit back now and relax for 4 weeks and let them do what they do...
ill post a few pics up weekly and if i get any problems i know where to come ;-) thanks again

Hi rsj :)

All looking sweet man .... now the hard bit :) .... Patience :)

Thats the one element i thougth i would struggle with befor i started ... But so far so good :) , Seeing daily progress and looking back at early pics in my J are a reminder that things ARE happening ... so like you said ...I'm sitting back and letting nature do it's thing and just trying to give my little plants the best possible life i can and hope they give me something in return :)

Keep us posted of progress .... Good Luck !

well tonight will be a week since i put them in their tent.
everything is going well, i had a bit of a scare on Monday as i put another fan in to circulate the air abit more and it back fired on me as the temps shot up outside from my incomming feed pipe and blew hot temps all around my babies and some suffered leaf damage (ends curled up and looked withered), lucky i checked on them 2 hours after i put the extra fan in and took out and the temps dropped straight away. I also raised the light alittle to give them recoupe time.
anyway heres a few pics of them at the moment. These are all 4 weeks old from germination

this is my star... i cant believe how much this baby has grown. (dutch passion, green spirit) cant wait to see what she gives me!

quick up date.... day 15 of veg since going into the tent.

i also took some cuttings from them on Friday.....

the 4 pots on the left are coco medium, then rockwool cubes and in the little pots are bio bizz potting soil, just going to see which ones work best for the cloning part.

ive also put my spare bubblegum outside to catch some natural rays, just to see how she does outside in soil.

well tomorrow night it will be 3 weeks in the grow tent, and they are getting really big now which is kind of worrying as im scared that they will reach maximum tent height during flowering, so im just cutting down an hour of light every other day to wean down to 12/12.

im getting abit worried about tent height, heres a pic of them today now 3 weeks into Veg

and heres a pic of how much room i have left in the tent.

also ive started reducing daylight by an hour every other day, but ive just read somewhere that when you go into flowering that they have 36 hours of darkness to start off with.
Why would this be? and would i need to do this or carrying on reducing the daylight as i am until i reach 12/12 and to carry on that cycle?
any pointers would be read with interest.

there is no need to leave 36hours of darkness prior to going into 12 12. This can just speed up flowering but i have done the 36hours of dark and just flipped straight to 12 12. Not seen any difference personally by doing the darkness.

Switch straight to 12 12 when your lights come on next.

Then just wait.

RSJAY have you planned for how you are going to check for hermie's? I warned you in the beginning about the room you would have for your planned amount in that room.

"TOLD YOU SO"

IMO you should switch to 12 12 now and hope you dont run out of room. You may also have to contemplate doing some flowering LST to keep the height within your limits.

At worst case scenario and bottom line solution i could convert the room into a grow room as i am a builder but your guidance inpreventing this will be taken onboard as a first instance.
I take the plants out every couple of days to turn them round and to check the health of them, and at the moment they all look female to me with white pistils but i thought they were still to young to be females for sure.
Im just going to do some Sherlock Holmes on LST, any good links you swear by?
I will also convert to 12/12 tonight. ;-)
do i have to change my nutes now
as im using canna a+b and ive also got dutch hydro boost for flowering, but i was going to buy some canna bloom and pk13 14?

You should continue with grow nutes for 2weeks after switching to 12 12 . This is what i do.

As for LSt i havent tried it yet. BUt there is plenty of Info about how to on RIU just searching for LST as the thread title under advanced search.

You can get a hermie right up to about week 5 of flower. After this if it were to do anything male related it would be bananas in the buds.

Dont worry yourself too much with hermie's though just make sure you check them regularly.

Also try not to have cold AC air blowing directly at any of your plants and make sure your fans are oscilating around the plants not directly at them.

Thought i would include some pics of a start of 12 12 and then an after the 2week stretch for you to contemplate the growth they can have.

J

i have included a First day on 12 12
These are the first 2 pics.
Then after the 2 week stretch

and then current down to 2 plants and 1 clone 38days into 12 12.

I had abit of a scare today, and im not sure im out of the water yet!

this is what i found today when i opened the tent.

the bottom of the leaves on over half of my plants had gone yellow and fell off when you touched them.

i checked my ph levels and they were 6.3 in each tank and my nutes were 2.2 which is spot on for the canna readings.

all i can guess is, its a water issue, either under or over watering?

they were being drip fed for 15 mins 3 times a day and the drippers are 2L an hour, so roughly getting 1.5 litres a day, which must be too much?
Ive stopped the drippers today and will check the cocco tomos for dampness.

i also supported them with bamboo canes today and trimmed the dead leaves.

fingers crossed all will be better tomos.......

this looks like N def caused by not enough light penetration.

if its effecting most of the lower leaves i wouldn't worry it is just the plant discarding foliage that is of no use as it cant see the light.

cheers J, im waiting for ventilation reducers to arrive so i can use both of my cool tubes i bought, as im only running 1x 600w hps at the moment.

i did notice the spare tube unused hanging up.

if everything seems ok ph temps EC etc then its just the plant dropping what it cant use.

try not too cut too much off, each time you do the plant has to heal. if a leaf comes off if you touch it or with a gentle pull the its ready to be discarded.

get the other light on as soon as those reducers come.
