How much/often should I water a seedling after the roots pop out? I currently have such seeds in 4 inch pots. lights are 2.5 inch away from the top of the soil, and are on a 18/6 rotation. currently i give them 3-4 mists twice a day. also, is there a perfferd time to water plants (i.e. morn/noon/night)? Another question, how far should florescent lights be away from the plant once it pops out of the soil? I think I may have burned a little plant, one day it poped out and a few days later it seem shrivled.

2.5 inches should be okay for any floro, test it, if it burns you it will burn your plant

water when the container the plant is in is totally dry, you shouldnt need to mist them, morning waterings are good but you can water whenever really.

wow, mogie pretty much answered my question here. Though mogie said something about letting 10% to flow through, does that mean i water it until it starts flowing out the bottom? That would seem like over watering to me, but, what do I know.

No, if you dump a shitload of water in your plant and water does not come out of the holes, then be worried. the water comming out of the holes is good. that is preventing over water, you want to evenly moisten the whole medium. i grow in grow bags right now and when i dump water in them most of it comes out of the holes before the soil has a chance to take it up, so i have to water slowly, so i'm going to ditch the bags. with my normal pots i water until a little starts comming out of the holes, then i know it's fully moistened. as long as you have evenly watered.

oh cool, so i'll add more water then. so water till some comes out and wait for entire pot to dry, so maybe water once a day, maybe ever 1.5 days. cool.

the bigger your pots get, the more time you will ahve to wait for it to dry out, a moisture meter is great for this.
