No. We knew the earth was not flat before Columbus sailed to America. Long before. Don't forget it was Leif Ericson who discovered America.

The trouble is the loony tunes don't think that the Southern hemisphere exists and Australia is just made up.Yes. Though a north half and a south half make a whole sphere.
