Skywalker: That bottle is 1.5 liters...what? I like Mountain Dew.

Desert Dream: 20oz. bottle for comparison. She is looking good. I think she will pack a punch later, maybe I can flower her a little longer when the others aren't in there.

Blue Dream closeup.

Skywalker closeup.

New place to store my things. :}

A place for some small mothers.

A place for the seedlings/ clones.

Clone Shelf,

it's a 4 shelf food safe rack with reflective material wrapped around it. The shelf, Mylar wrap (mylar is what I am calling the wrap it is basically anyways), and T5 light cost me 140 bucks at HD (I also got zip ties and I feel like some other small things). The light is only 24w but I had another 24w Sunstrip light at home (lucky me :}). I want to get a beastly looking T5 similiar to Steezz when I can afford it. I would like to add that I barely used any of the mylar roll, I could probably have wrapped 2 more shelves (maybe I will...).

The girls are gonna be mad, I have to drain and refill the rez while they are sleeping. I want my airstone to breakup more of the chlorine and such. I found the 2010 water report for my area and I am no so sure I am going to keep using it. It is kind of high in the calcium deposits. I will be trying to figure out how to get water all the time. Maybe, I will buy bottles and just pick one up a day or something. That way it looks like I am only using a bottle a day, not 40 gal coming in my door all at once. I will have to add cal/ mag, but I am willing to go for the sacrifice. It seems more important to me, for my ladies to have cleaner water. Ultimately, I want to have a steam distillation unit for my whole house (like Field of Dreams, build it and they will come, Big dreams!). RO water is an expensive/ or time consuming thing. The systems are expensive and they have hidden maintenance costs associated with them, from my research. The steam distillation units are used on military ships for the soldiers drinking water. They refine sea water and don't have a high waste ratio; the RO membranes and all waste water.

That is all way for the future though, not looking to stir up debates. These are just things I want to try and see if they work, as I have not seen many of the big time growers I know experimenting.

I want to try the new technologies coming to market for indoor growers. The new lights are starting to lower in price and become better all around. In the last 2 years LEDs have went through major revisions. With the advancement to the 3w diode I foresee a steep rise in it's popularity in more financial conservative budgets. With a higher initial investment its seems like it will be a much less stressful thing, heat and power consumption are very important in grower. These new technologies are looking to give us what we want (IMO).

God I just want to not have ducting anymore, or at the very least not have to worrying about my light exploding if the ventilation pops.

Not trying to push anyone on these new things. Do what works for you and keep surviving BOi.

See ya'll manana.

Started using RO water today. Found out my bucket wasn't properly labeled aaaand I only have had 25 gal in my 40gal rez. Even feed @ half strength I was basically feeding @ full strength...Fixed that problem.

I got cal/mag to add to the RO water. Based on the Water Report for my area it is just better to dial in the nutes without having to worry about those other numbers.

The ladies seriously look twice as big in the bud nodes, than they were when I posted those last pics and nothing has really changed. They got flushed for a little over an hour, I finally picked up the Clearex. Used 600 ml in the 25 gal and the water was cloudy and had risen 70 ppm...geeez...

These are the nutes added to the RO water:

Canna Aqua Flores A+B
Rhizotonic
Cannazyme
Humbolt Nutrients
SeaMag
SeaCal
SuperThrive
Physan20 (I am going to be checking with both Canna and the manufacturer to ensure this isn't canceling the Cannazyme. That shit is expensive.)
Liquid KoolBloom

After all that I came out with these readings
pH: 6.03
EC: 1.754
PPM: 887 (Half strength nutes with teh correct water level)
Temp: 78F

It's seems to good to be true. Digging it though.

My major concern right now would have to be the water temp. I want it much much lower. The water bottles are good, they don't last very long with three pumps in there now. I'm going to look into water chillers(I know notheeeeeng).

I named the Blue Dream that was hit by the level. He has a very distinct couple of torn leaves.

There is another set too.

This is the actual fan leaf that gave me the idea.

I'm digging your clone shelf LL. Looks like something you could buy in a hydro shop. I know what you mean about the r/o water too. Using r/o water was my plan but like you said, it's too time consuming and it gets expensive after a while. After two trips to the store with 15 1gal jugs filled with r/o water I went back to the tap water lol Not only that but my plants didn't seem to care which water they were getting.

That skywalker definitely dominates your garden but watch out. One of your other girls could surprise you and pass that girl right up. Originally I thought my blue cheese plants were going to be huge. Turns out they're in a distant second to the master kush who've been exploding with size.

Overall your shit looks super tight bro. Keep it up so we can see those babies grow some massive buds.

Thanks man!

15/ 1gal jugs...fsck that. I think with hydro you should go with RO or some form of distilled water. In soil, the soil acts like a buffer. So you shouldn't have that many problems in soil with tap. In hydro there is no buffer. Not saying I couldn't use tap water, I have been for over a month. I just feel like this is already better for the babies.

No one was on yesterday lol. I was yearning for some updates! I am going to start taking tons of pictures when I update. Hopefully I will get those videos on here soon.

Looking good at day 13, I think you will be pleased with the outcome. So do you prefer hydro over soil?

regards,
So far...definitely. The soil doesn't stink up the place. I have had to go through a bunch of revisions in my system. I ultimately knew what I wanted to end up with, which was drip rings. I would prefer if my plants were smaller haha. I believe absolutely that Hydroponics is easier than soil. I have heard soil is easier dah dah dah. It's just more forgiving to people not paying attention to their girls. If you are checking them everyday and doing the proper procedures on everything, I feel like the harvest will be much better than soil.

Now, of course that depends on what you are looking to get. I didn't say yield, I said harvest. I like the way my pistils and buds are forming. The last couple of soil grows were wrought with pests. I have only had a spidermite scare once, and maybe it wasn't even that, as, there haven't been any spots or indications after only a couple sprays.

Overall I am quite pleased already. I know now I need to get a CO2 system setup. The temps in the tent are higher now coming to the end of summer. It would benefit me to use those temps to my advantage. I also need to purchase a water chiller. I have been using 1.5L and 1Gal frozen water bottles, but I want to get that really chilly water to get pretty colors on the girls.

Day 15 is halfway over. :}

Rez change and flushed this week. Drip rings are in, Nutes are @3/4 str. Hmm what else. I used some Sweet I had from a previous grow. I might go pick up another bottle and keep feeding. They are all ~8wk strains. I will look it up and double check. Last 6 weeks I will be feeding with Sweet to bulken up a bit. I have the Liquid KoolBloom in there too. Umm, I am not putting the Physan in there this week, we will see how that goes.

Tomorrow I will be putting my small window AC in the grow room. The temps in the tent @ lights off have been aroun 84F. At night they are fine and come down into the 70's. I will get a new window unit for my bedroom soon and it will be nice. :}

Anyone have a CO2 setup I can take off their hands? Lol.

Do not stress them too much with the cold reservoir, although the colours are nice it still is stress an will eventually affect your harvest.

I too am looking for some CO2 system. Man those ladies have nice foliage around the bud sites. In a few weeks I would imagine your gonna have some big ass buds.

I won't bring the rez temp down low low til the last week. Shit how cold can it get with ice bottles haha.

Looking great Lantern! Skywalker looks a lot like the Grape God I'm trying out. So far she's short and frosty...What's the Skywalker strain a cross of?

I read a bunch of stuff about the strain. Apparently it could be a couple of different things. I get terribly sad that there is no easy way to verify genetics. :}

Thanks for the encouragement. I put a 5000 btu AC in the grow room. temps are staying down near 74 in the middle of the day (right now it is around 3pm). Girls are looking good. I will update pics this weekend :}
