operating 1000w total power grow with batteries?

You cannot run a generator for the entire life of a grow, 12hrs a day, for 9 weeks straight and the fuel and maintenance costs will eat you alive, aside from the safety hazards from them. Electricity is nowhere near that expensive.

Stick with a place that offers some ease of use and security, or avoid growing until you can, the only thing that may be in jeopardy is your freedom.

Sure you can, but you must have a generator designed for it , you are not going to buy it at home depot .

I live in a area that has very high power costs, It's often cheaper to produce the power yourself ( even after you factor in maintance, #2, parts, geny price)

not so much.....its a common practice around here.Most were buried in the 70s or 80s and they're fine.A connex can't be beat,IMO
What do they tar them and put sacrfical anodes on or something ???

I actually own several (all used) but they rust fast above ground .

I have heard horror storys about people trying to bury them for TEOTWAWKI bunkers

Shipping containers ( typical conex ) are not made for direct burial and internal support must be added or they will collapse with as little as 12" of soil over them. Think of standing on one foot balanced carefully on an empty soda can, you touch the sides of the can (rain soaked soil) and it collapses faster than you can pull your fingers back ( please do not try this, it will end bad for you). Rectangles are inherently weak structures anyway. Spheres and arches dominate the underground world.

not sure about tar,but ya they get a little renforcing .They usually have a building built over theme .After digging up tons of buried stuff.( i run a excavator for a living)I can't see rust being an issue underground.
I bury ductile iron almost everyday. To prohibit rust on ductile,on every pipe we weld on these bags of goop that soak up everything that would rust a pipe.IDK how it works but it might work on steel also

ductile iron is made for bury ,

Im actually a plumber , I get to work with ductille iron commonly , I have never seen any 'rust out' even when buryed in a salt marsh for 100+ years but they do crack

If it is steel that needs protecting, most pipeline companies employ cathodic protection for most underground work, pretty kewl concept actually :eyesmoke:

.......and yes, I am baked.............................

sorry,my point was you could prolly weld on a few of those bags if you were worried about rust....Most connex's around here have spent their life on a barge,on a ocean, and look and work fine.I know of 8 buried boxes in my town.20 plus years-no probs.FWIW
