i said fuck it...just ordered some florabloom for 13.50 ..32 oz. This grow box is taking up more money than i planned haha, do you think there's going to be anything else i'll need? I hear people saying that getting cal and mag supps are sometimes needed. Also people tend to say to add molasses to get bud density, do you do that? Some of my leaves do have those little red dots on them which I'm seeing from these symptom pictures are cal and mag deficiencies. Do you know a cheap way to remedy this problem? People say esptom salt or sea salt but how do you know how much to add and do you know if it effects the PH as well so ill have to adjust that ? thank you! But i mean, it's only on like 4-5 leaves and not even a lot on those at that, do I HAVE to do something or screwing up this girl badly?

View attachment 2575084 Too close to the light or good enough? I don't see any burn marks on the top . Ordered this on ebay

I'm reading about N during flowering and everyone says that you definitely want to keep it throughout until harvest. Since i have the MG 15-30-15 and now ill have this nute which is 0-5-4 and I water probably 3 times a week. Should i go 2 days with no N and one day with N? SO ill have now have two gallon jugs and use them accordingly? My plant stopped really smelling like bud and more of a grassy smell now as well
Epsom is good for mag, even usable as foliar if emergency, but as far as C, if you don't wanna spend money, eat a dozen eggs, save the shells, rinse them good then boil the piss out of them.
It's not as simple as the soak them in water for a month and just wait method, but the shells break down slowly for some C.
Then, just use that water to add your nutes to or water plain, whatever.
As far as molasses, I found that Grandma's, some store brands, and Roddenberry's are all unsulphured.
No need to buy the "Blackstrap" for an extra buck and half per bottle.
I've found anywhere up to a Tbsp and half per gallon is OK, but I usually just use 1 Tbsp./ per.

cool thank you. Have you found a difference when you used molasses vs not using it? Also since it seems that MJ needs nitrogen through the full cycle...how do u suggest i alternate using the 15-30-15 nute and the 0-5-4 and do you personally ever just use straight phed water?

I have not done a side by side with 2 identical plants, so can't comment on yes/ no on the Molasses.
Personally, I just used bloom butes, or whatever I had lower in N, until I started to see some indication I:E: light leafs, or yellowing starting towards the bottom, before giving ONE shot of veg nutes instead of the bloom.
Yes, straight PH'ed tap water is what I use ALL the time.
I figure, if it's good enough to drink (without any bad taste) then it 'should' be good enough for the plants too.
It works on houseplants and veggies, right?.
If what you're using for bloom is so low as a 0-5-4, keep an eye on them for other deficiencies as well as the N.

hmm..i've actually been feeding every time(3 days a week normally). Is this bad and will cause salt buildup or fuck my roots up or something? there's zero sign of any nute burn. ALso my main cola seems like it's growing like a mofo but all the other budsites dont seem to be taking off...any idea why?

i want to take a clone but i dont have another grow pox that would allow me to change up the light cycle to 18/6. Also, everyone seems to say to always use domes and florescent lights but all i have are cfls. Would it be possible to just use a headlamp that will hold my 23w 6500k CFL and shine it on the plant? I could even get two of them going on the girl

I bet that that would work for a small area. Maybe several CFLs...

I use a bank of four 5' long T8s and got strong clones and Mothers
for the next crop. ...but I grew a few plants in an old college "box grow"
using just nine CFLs, so I know that it is possible.

Good luck,

JD

I have another empty case that i could use as another grow box but i dont know if i want to go through all the same trouble of drilling out all those fucking rivets haha. we'll see. ANd oddly the pc is pretty old and doesnt have an intake fan just an exhaust. Would that be fine? I mean wouldn't the exhaust just pull air into the box and continue to push it out? It will only be like 1 or 2 clones so i wouldnt think they would need a fan blowing air right at them, just need to get some form of oxygen which im sure will get leaked into the case or pulled in by the exhaust ...what do you guys think?

If I understand you, and you have a fan driving hot air out of
the case, then you can count on fresh air being pulled in by whatever
cracks are available.

You might want to force the issue, and to take air in lower down, as
this will be cooler air. (i.e. add a duct, or just a hole)

Good luck,

JD

my plant is 4 weeks into flower....i've been reading everywhere and bakaatar has taken clones when your girl is in flower. I don't really care if it takes longer than usual to reveg i'm mainly concerned about the stress to my plant. By taking a clone will i be taking away energy from the plant that could be used to make buds b/c it's now stressed or will it actually provide more energy for the said buds? Thanks again

What's up man?
LOL, I didn't actually MEAN to take clones, but it worked out fine anyway.
My girl was flowering for at least a couple weeks when I did it, and I just lopped the branches off, and stuffed them into a cup of my soil that I had.
They've been going ever since, and I've even been messing with them, going from 12/12, or 10/14 with light leaks, to now I have in the veg closet with my Sour D and Purple Kush, along with some Radish and Green Onion seeds, this thing is really confused, but I just cut off a bunch of new growth today from it thinking it was revegging. LOL

Update: 0327131028.jpg0327131032.jpg0327131032a.jpg0327131033.jpg

Any idea what's causing my leaves to curl like that? I've read it could be like 8 things...overwatering..underwating...NA deficiency ...NA toxicity...i think i read cal deficiency somewhere? No idea. Regarding watering, I basically stick my finger a little down into the dirt and feel if it's moist or not. I haven't watered in two days and it still feels moist near the surface of the soil. Should I only water when it feels 100% dry? I've also been using florabloom and it's 0-5-4 so it doesn't have any N obviously, my main cola seemed to have gotten MUCH bigger since using it, but I just started to notice the yellowing shown in the pic(only really there though and maybe one other leaf). Honestly though my main cola(3rd pic in) is the only one that's getting thick...everything else doesn't seem to be stretching down the stem. I'm sure light penetration is one of the things, but without cutting the fan leaves, I've been LSTing trying to spread things out, but there's a shit ton of fan leaves. Any ideas about the curling, when to add my 15-30-15 nute, getting my other budsites swelling up and how to judge when to water? thanks guys. One last thing, this plant doesn't smell good at all. Smelled like good bud when I first changed to flower but for the past 2-3 weeks it just smells weird.

I wonder if someone will suggest Epsom Salts for an Mg deficiency.
This is just my guess.

Good luck,

Yeah, this is the rub, isn't it? That there could be more than enough Mg, but some
other imbalance is causing a lock-out.

I checked online, and see this:

Ah! The dreaded claw! This means you are over fertilizing the plants. Too much salt buildup.
Can you try flushing the plants with plain water (not too high of pH),
about three times the volume of their soil?

Do this, and see how the plant improves over the next couple of days.

Good luck,

JD

I do no think that that matters. She likely wants to dry out,
and may well only improve after this starts to happen, but if
the end results solves the issue, then all is well again.

Just my $0.02. Please feel free to wait for more experience to chime in.

Good luck,

JD

ok I'm going to go ahead and flush until the water coming from the bottom looks clear. I don't know the exact size of my pot so I can't go three times it. I've hearing that I have too much N as well. Too much N can cause the claw and the dark leaves. I'm going to lay off my 15-30-15 and stick with 0-5-4 for awhile. When do you think I should switch back? Think when I start to see a N deficiency?

Javadog

Well, those are well into flowering, so an N deficiency might take
a bit longer to show up, but you will know when you see the color
of the leaves start to lighten toward yellow....but keep in mind that
the need for N later in the cycle is now recognized (just not as much).

Good luck,

JD
