... i haven't seen anyone talking about this yet, and i'm so not a sports person at all, other then motorsports and cars, but it's a pretty local thing near me, so i wanted to hear what anyone has to say about what they're doing, and what the ncaa dealt down to them yesterday..

i personally think it's a disgrace.. this dude gives them 50 years of his life, and they are removing any monument they had to him form the campus..
i understand what went down and all, but i don't think he had anything to do with it imho.. idk, it's a bad deal all around and i feel bad for the man and his family....

Unfortunately he did have plenty to do with it, as well as senior faculty; IMHO the school got what it deserves.

“Football will never again be placed ahead of educating, nurturing and protecting young people,” NCAA President Mark Emmert declared in announcing the penalties.

Disgrace??? What about the lives of the children who were raped by Sandusky?? How about their lives? Thats some horrible shit to go through. Paterno's statue would still be standing if The Most Powerful man at Penn State ( Jo Pa ) didnt sweep the child rape under the rug. His ego got the best of him his love for the game and Penn State ruined his legacy and at the end of the day he didnt do the right thing. Do people actually think his statue and the game of football is more important than the safety of a child or child rape??

yah, but joe parterno didn't rape anyone.. he said he reported the shit to the school.. what else is he to do??

idk, of course rape is awful, but the parterno never raped a soul.. he gave his life to penn state, and they pretty much killed the man imo by all the bs that he had to go through..
i'm sure no one else in that entire school knew about the rapist and kept their mouths shut?? come on, why put it all on perterno is all i'm saying..

Paterno raped no one, he only protected a child rapist. Joe Paterno and faculty involved reprimanded Jerry Sandusky by telling him he could no longer bring young boys on Penn State campus that is it!!!! What you are missing is the cover up led by Joe Paterno and faculty involved.

he helped rape every kid after he knew and did nothing...he could of stopped kids from getting raped...since he didn't more kids got raped..so that's on him...
he was a bad person...im sure others knew about it...BUT he was in charge....do you have a kid racer?

Not only was he in charge but he was the biggest influence and one of the most powerful men at Penn State. When you are a leader you have to lead by example and this is where failed and in turn Penn State fired him.

well if faculty didn't do anything about it, why didn't he take it a step further and report to the proper authorities?? when you know something is wrong you don't just turn a blind eye to it... he's just a guilty as Sandusky for doing just that... stay high

my whole thinking is i doubt that he was the only one who knew about it... i think he's just being used as an easy out from the school.. if paterno knew about it, you don't think anyone above him also knew about it?? come on, of course they did, but yet he's the one being fucking fried for it.. idk..
there was another thread about a dude getting killed for snitching on someone, and i said how fucked up it was for him to get killed for speaking out and doing the decent and right thing, and i had many people reply and say snitches get stitches, blah blah blah... why is it that snitches get sttches in some situations, but in this case it's not the way it is...
idk, this world confuses me is all.. i still don't think it's all paterno's fault and people above him knew just as much as he did, and yet they're not getting their shit removed from the school...

idk, i just think it's a shit situation, not only for the children involved obviously, but i just feel he's being used as a scapegoat by the school, and it's not right.. i obviously am not the only one who feels this way as i saw ton's of people on the news over at the campus taking pix of his statues before they got removed..

snitches get stiches is a thug life senario... it's a law abided by gangsters... that's what everyone was talking about in the other threade. this is different... in the end the raper gets it in the "end"... stay high

Yep they all hid it, all of them guilt by association. They were all fired for basically protecting Jerry Sandusky. They felt that it would tarnish the football program and it did in the end.

I didnt feel like typing but yeah he's right. This isnt the streets or street justice this is a big time college with a big time football program. In a professional world there is no such thing as "street justice" thats why when people get jerked on wall street they have to be humble about and just cry about losing all their money on the streets it's easy to take care of someone who jerked you.

That it is. It really is a shame that these things went on at such prestigious college. Time will pass and the school will rebuild and keep going.
