Poor seedlings

Og grumble

Anyone know whats up with these seedlings. In a mix of soil, compost/ewc, perlite, vermiculite. Very small for 2 weeks old and now they are curling down and turning colors. The white is just diatomaceous earth.

Whats up tim good to hear from you again lol. Its just bagged compost and ewc nothing special. You really think thats too hot?
Hey bro!!

Yeah I reckon.
It's your description. They should be a lot bigger at 2 weeks old.
I did the same thing, one time with some outdoor soil. Instead of buying seedling mix.
My mix was way too hot. Sprouts never got past their first node.
If you've used the same lights before. I think it's a hot mix for sure.

Ill get em out of that mix then lol. Thanks man. I might go 50/50 ewc perlite?

This was my seedling mix lol its like 80% perlite/vermiculite 20% compost ewc. Ill get a better seedling mix. Thanks
Is there an npk analysis, anywhere on the bag

How do you prepare your substrates? Perlite, coir, and peat moss?
Did you give each, a really thorough rinse before using?
Did you add any lime or gypsum, to buffer it all?

What type of CFL? anything up to about 25W should be fine even at 1 inch.
It literally as to physically touch a leaf to hurt it.

The compost doesnt have one. Its black gold brand organic garden compost. Black gold brand castings .8-0-0
Yeah man. I'd go something milder, TBH.
Just an ordinary seedling mix, from the hardware would be more than ample.
I don't mind those jiffy pellets either. But not practical for your situation right now.

The soil was was fox farms happy frog. Then i added some compost and ewc and its now like 80% perlite/vermiculite. No coir or peat.

Cool.
Sounds good then.
Soooo what's the problem? :bigjoint:

You're right man. This is a good one.
Maybe transplant isn't necessary.

What's the ph, of the mix you used?
Did you check it before you potted?
Is there any extra lying around, you can test?
