Problems with air pots.

After a few runs with airpots, I'm changing all my pots out. I use the 1 gal/ 3.5 ltr size for easier handling and have found a way to reduce the river building....When loading, every couple inches, just stir the medium around, you'll notice level dropping as it fills the voids, then transplant prepped solo cup babe, filling til cutout of prepped solo cup is covered. I water/feed ONLY into the solo cup (kinda like a funnel, which placed correctly, substantially reduces water migration...
In 15 years of using every kinda of container that would hold dirt, airpots have the damnedest root ball I've ever seen.

Not sure I know exactly what you are talking about but I agree with not packing the medium. Needs to breath.. I grow autos so I start them in the pot they are going to finish in. I just have to water extremely slow. I water in the morning before I go to work so sometimes I water to fast which cause water to run out the side about ½ way down. Do you start your seeds in the rockwool in the pot or in a starter pot. Then transplant to another pot? Thanks for the info. It never stops impressing me all you people willing to help. Thanks everyone.
Jiffy pellet to premoistened 5gal pot day after sprout. Grower preference.
