I have xbox elite...I like it, cas i dont buy shit games, i am a sophisticated gamer so to say, rdr, gears, gta, and many good, i mean GOOD games more...Only thing i dont like that the fucker is too loud.U can always just turn up the vol, but sometimes i dont like it too loud...And i know that ps3 is superiour, and the king of formats...
But both have them own good exclusives, but expect halo, thats shit is full gay, like triple gay, and i am an xbox owner

i know PC's can out perform both ps3/xbox360/console....but....console pwns gaming by far...
you've bumped your little head, son.
no way can a console ever match a PC for gaming.
no console controller will ever be able to match keyboard/mouse.
add in mods and map editing...
consoles are for children and (inthe case of the wii) old people.
the xbox 360 has a 54%failure rate right out of the box and the ps3 software updates have
REMOVED options and funtionality from the system.
no thanks. i'll build my own badass gaming system from parts i choose.
my PC eats xboxes and shits out solar calculators.

Pc is good because of software pirating, greater graphics, more power so more possibilities. But I still use a 360 controller for racing flying platform etc, but mouse fpr strategy or fps etc. Both are good.

dude...give it like 10 - 20 more years and wait and see what console will be doing...its going to be equivalent to pc...meaning you will be able to upgrade just like a regular pc...just wait homie

no way that will happen why make it upgradeable when you make more money making you buy new ones. upgrades for pcs cuz tech changes so fast but i dont see it for cons just cuz the makers will make less money every 3-4 years a new one will come out every 3 weeks new stuff for pcs come out

PC games are still PC games. As soon as you can get fucked up in your living room with a few buddies and play PC games maybe PC gaming will be less nerdcity than it is now.

pc is full of hacks for games, playing online on a ps3 or xbox im sure would be much harder for someone to hack the game, thats what bring pc down, i like to play a fair game not against people who just hack them

PS3 has a MUCH better media streaming capability. Not even close.

The X-BOX 360 seems to have tighter graphics in some games, and better DLC. I kind of like the controllers better for the 360....beefier, sit in your hands nice.

360's though.....I am now on my 4th 360 in 4 years (1 failed GPU, and 2 failed DVD-ROM's)....but I still have the same PS3 I bought 2 years ago, and it shows no signs of failure or inadequacies.

I play games on both (just downloaded BF:BC2 Vietnam on the 360), but ALL media streaming goes thru the PS3.

I look at it as which is the better all around console, and I have to say the PS3.

first off, i dont see the whole enterntainment center thing people are talking about as an actual mesurement... you can buy a blu ray player for way cheap or just enhance you computer to play 1080p. any media streaming or use for movies and music is just a thing you find out about after you buy the console FOR GAMING.
maybe 2 aspects the ps3 could dominate is single player gaming now that they will also have mass effect and motion gaming which is still new but doing wayyy better on ps3.
i own the same 360 for 2 years now and no probs (knock on wood) and to remind you guys there were ps3 units that got returned for faulty builds as well so the three red rings thing is not so much of an argument as well...
2011 defenitely a xbox year with exclusives :)

You don't need to buy a Blu-Ray player on top of your PS3. It is one.

I can access over 10000 of my videos and 20000+ songs with PS3 Media Server or all the major network podcasts all with my Blu-Ray remote.

I am on my 4th (should be fifth as ROM drive is missing on my current 360) XBOX.

I am on my first PS3 still. None of my friends have had to ever replace their PS3's, everyone that has a 360 is on at least their second one.

I see HUGE benefits of being able to browse all my shared media (3.5+TB) all with one remote.
The same laptop that streams with PS3 media server, can't play the same movies with software media players like VLC. I can render full HD Blu-Ray streams, with DTS or AC3 audio (even DTS-MA). My 360 can't even play most MP4's or AVI files.

Not a fan boy at all. In fact I used to fanboy war with my friends who all ran PS3's when all I had was my 360. Now I am a member of both worlds, and can say that the 360 has NOWHERE near the capabilities of the PS3....and the gaming world is only SLIGHTLY better on the 360.

Don't get me wrong. I have streamed on both. PS3 hands down. Gamed on both....360 slight edge. I can also use my setup as a HTPC setup as well, but having it all in one place is super sweet.

I like my setup.

1- 360
1- PS3 Slim 250GB
1- 19" monitor
1- 26" monitor/TV
1- 40" monitor/TV
2- computers...Acer laptop (bottom blacked out screen) and HP desktop
1- Panasonic Blu-Ray player that has NOT been fw updated, so DRM movies can still be played on it.
1- Sony DivX player
1- Marantz 5.1 amplifier with speakers/sub
2- Seagate 1TB ext. HDD's
1- Verbatim 500GB HDD
Also have Telus Satellite TV with HD-PVR just installed.

I run RSS feeds for torrents for TV shows, so between the PVR and them I NEVER miss any episode of nearly 50 different TV and cable programs that I watch regularly. I just walk in the door, turn on the gear, and all my shows are updated in their specific folder, and I also have the PVR programmed so I can catch most of the shows in HD. I often travel or spend time in the bush for work for sometimes weeks on end, so I burn to DVD-R all my TV shows so I can watch them on a DivX player.

Every wired device is linked at 1GB via Cat 5e cables.

That is just what you see in my bedroom/command center. I have some less fancy gear going in downstairs but I just moved into this house so I will probably wait till spring.

My roommate also runs a PS3 and streams to it with his laptop, and we have a wireless N bridge running his gear all at 1 GB LAN speed off a DAP-1522 Bridge/AP between all his devices (see my map) Our setups are linked with N WiFi for cross sharing folders.

My roommate knows very little about PC's or streaming, but he can't live without the setup we have now.

I'm sorry you don't see the benefit, and many don't. But OH SO many do.

If the thread was which is a better gaming console, then I would have said the 360 by a nose...but the title was "PS3 or Xbox360 Cast your Thoughts"

So I thought I should point out the capabilities of each.

PS: People should actually Google things or actually know what they are talking about. Like saying that you can't buy Blu-Ray's for less than 30$.....go to WalMart. 9$ Canadian for new Blu-Rays.

Or lame ass lines like.....if you have a PS3 you have herpes...FACT!!!! Grow up Fanboy, your cheese is starting to mold.

Saying that Blu-Ray is a waste of money......OKAY....keep watching your low resolution video....I'll watch HD content. Have fun with that....lol.

Getting knocked out of COD sessions....that is a COD server issue and it happens on both Xbox Live and PSN....NOT a PSN issue specifically. My roommate plays COD and gets booted all the time....loses hosts. Meanwhile I play Battlefield series at the same time, and my connection nearly never drops. Xbox Live can be just as stubborn.

I run NetFlix on both so 1 for 1.

P.P.S. : I can actually reboot/shutdown/sleep/hibernate any serving PC from the XMB of my PS3 by using my Sony Blu-Ray remote. Try doing that with a 360 lol.

I will point out that the 360 has in game music....meaning you can play your own collection with nearly any game at any time.....big plus for the 360 I thought I should add.

PS3 fans have been asking for this since the day it came out, and Sony refuses to budge on it.

So my posts were to show my choice, obviously, but don't take that as meaning I am in anyway a fanboy of either. Both have their advantages. 360 DLC games are way better....so much more choice.

I can, however, get nearly every game I like on either console. That is why I took my extra money and got myself a PS3, instead of replacing my 4th 360, and kept the 360 for it's HDD games, DLC and to keep in contact with my online friends on Live.

The media capabilites are what sold me on the PS3. The 360 is a nightmare to try to stream to.

COD sucks IMO all around. That`s just my opinion though. Battlefield series is more my type. Though, they have still yet to make the perfect combat game. If they could take elements of Operation Flashpoint, COD, Battlefield and MAG they could make a sweet game.

Why everyone has to chime in about how consoles suck and PC`s rule, I don`t get it. The thread is about consoles....but whatever.
