It really does suck, tbh, it really has affected the way the view cannabis now. I have to grow weed low in limonene and its hard to balance it out. It is like a nightmare but I'll get through it and so will you.

Haze strains have many terpenes in, limonene especially, it appears super silver haze is one of these strains.

However, from my own experience, I flared up more when I was growing her, touching her hands on, chopping her was the worst, after a cure though it was much better, I also changed my soap as I said ealier, this has helped me a lot.

I get contact dermatitis from limonene, it is a type of excma, it appears yours is too.

You are not alone here.

Buy some gloves and don't have any skin contact with the plant until its dry.

I noticed the more sticky/wet, more terps stick to your hands and skin obviously because a terpene is INSIDE the tricombe with the sticky thc so they stick to you like glue and that causes mass irritation
Here is the terpene profile of my strain

Myrcene
42.1%

Beta-Caryophyllene
17.5%

Limonene
10.7%

I am also growing auto white widow as she has very little to no limonene in at all, it's a headache knowing I won't be able to grow strains with limonene in, it cuts back on what I can explore, it sucks but at the end of the day, I can still grow some strains and still enjoy cannabis. I have a true passion for growing cannabis and a true passion for the cannabis plant

Yeah that's high limonene when my ultimate was 8.7 we are pretty much the same but we have our side effects in different places. But the one thing we have in common is that, we both have irritated skin and that is what terps such as limonene does, linalool is also as skin allergen, I am growing a strain with linalool in, it's hard to get a strain without either

I messaged my seed company who I use called Dutch passion. For most of their strains, especially automatics, they have a very detailed chart of all the terpenes in that given strain.

For example, I grew auto ultimate and this is the strain that burned my skin like fucking HELL, she has 8.7% limonene in and this is what had made me react.

I messaged Dutch passion explaining this and they advised me to grow strains low in limonene, which I am doing now, such as auto night queen which contains pretty much no limonene in at all. She's a ball to grow and so far, so good with my skin!

I think Dutch passion is like the only company putting the terp profiles out for their seeds
you’re the best!!! I guess there’s hope then. Just gonna have to be picky with what I decide to grow next. Any low limonene favorite strains of yours to grow I would love to know (:

If the edge of a fan leave drags on my skin I get hives. Soap and water remedies this for me. Just found this out as I started growing last year.

Also found out during harvest, after drying and while doing trimming, my sinuses flare up, runny nose and eyes, and sneezing, also get hives if I touch my skin with stems.... so using a face mask (thanks Covid19) and construction safety glasses, long sleeved clothing and medical gloves.

I've consumed cannabis for 30 years and never had any issues until I started growing it, so it's weird, cause once cured and I'm consuming there is no issues at all for me.

Hard to say if this is your issue, but if you are not wearing PPE while working with this plant, I'd highly recommend it.

just wear rubber gloves when you grow, this should stop most of the problem

I would opt to message your seed bank company explaining your problems and they should be able to give you some strains low in limonene

Gotta treat her like rona then. Haha. Same as well I can consume it perfectly fine but growing is a pain in the ass. I’ve stopped smoking due to my profession as a nurse, but growing satisfies my love for cannabis haha! thank you!

Hey guys,
Im now on week 4 of flower for my super silver haze x northern lights, and only recently since the past two weeks have I had this nasty rash. I used to get it on my arms when I would train, but it would be just small bumps. I didn’t mind it at all. Now they are spreading everywhere! When I say everywhere, I mean it lol

It reminds me of poison oak. I’ve had it for 2 weeks now and it doesn’t seem to be getting better. Have you guys experienced anything similar during flowering period? Here are pics. Thanks for your help!
It's not presenting as an allergic dermatitis. It resembles a bite with bruising. Take a Benadryl and take another picture tomorrow or so and please tag me.

This is exactly what Dutch passion said to me, I hope this helps you too

Best would be to stay clear of fruity varieties as these tend to have high amounts of limonene. Classic Kush and Skunk varieties are usually very low in Limonene like for example our Auto Glueberry OG, Auto Xtreme, Blue Auto Mazar, Auto Night Queen, Auto Euforia and Auto Mazar.

If you have any additional questions, please don’t hesitate to contact us.
