We've never increased minimum wage from 7.5 to 10.1, a 33% raise, in one fell swoop.

You do agree with me then, that the purchasing power of someone making 15 will decrease, if minimum goes up to 10.1.

That is really my point. I'm not married to the amount of decrease I mentioned.

There are so many more people working over 10 than under 10 that I feel it unfair to them to raise it to that.

buying power did not decrease anywhere near a full one third, as you have posited, and the sky did not fall.

If minimum wage were a dollar you could increase it by 100% and the fall out wouldn't be as bad as if it was raised to 10.1 currently.

Percentages hide the scale of things. Increasing the minimum by almost three dollars per hour is a big leap.

15 bucks an hour will go from decent income to mom and dad give me some help.
