In an extreme sort o’ way…I had neighbors, a brother & sister from Israel, Barack & Tovah, & they split wide: he was your basic decent guy, came here for a saner life. He moved out when she married a very white, very right-wing policeman. Too bad, he really as a decent guy….

I was having a laugh with a mate at darts last night about how many Police officers who come from parent's who are teachers.

The general population data for self-reported abuse is closer to 4 percent when people are asked to report on the last 12 months.

And yes we did have a chuckle. McCoy is the family name who we were referencing- guess you had to be there. I played table tennis twice this week so threw the darts well on the double.

Now that i think about it I've had a fantastic week. I went for an awesome sail today as well, and its father's day tomorrow. How good is that!

Imo, yes.
I cannot imagine the sociology or psychology of the phenomenon, assuming the correlation is real.

So it would be cool to hear your or your mates’ reasoning on why it is so or why it would make sense.

What is it about having teachers as parents that predisposes someone to end up in law enforcement?

Also, “teachers as parents” could mean one or both. Was there an observed difference here between offspring of one teacher and those of two?

That’s how we handled neos in the 80s and 90s. 14-year old, according to witnesses, so no severe consequences from the law. Ok ok 14 y/o in a bar, that’s not normal. But a fascist anti-vaxxer Russian supporter and Qanon nonsense spreader sitting comfy in a student bar… apparantly not considered normal either.

This is a month after he was hit in the head by a Flemish-Ukrainian in Ghent, Belgium. Great city I visited in August, great people, very friendly. That’s like Vivek Ramaswamy getting hit by a Canadian-Ukrainian in Canada.
