Looking good Scotch. My purchase of the Volcano and Pax has been the best thing I have done for myself as far as puffing is concerned. Pax has come out with a cheap 40.00 pen that works pretty good too for dry material.

I will say that Brother Dawg has me interested in that Grasshopper though. Very stealthy.

Keep up the good work.

Thanks rippin the low temps have definitely taken their toll, and I should not have trained for so long (with the cold temps in mind..), but I am far from dialed in- last run I grew this cut it was an all natural untopped tree and stretched like a biotch. Now I have a good idea how long to train IN THE SCREEN next run to get the length I want.

I actually just went back to a 1e for the weekend, and my chest is noticeably heavier, back to the vape! The grasshopper looks sweet as shit, I like the led's and the battery sounds like it should last for an all day smoker like myself... what do you think of the Volcano? I was considering dipping into it as my Home Turf Toke, Digi's are going for ~5 on ebay.

thats hurts my head trying to read that small ass print... lol
Yea but it was an eye opener seeing how big of a role CBD plays, pretty amazing what people have found out with such restrictions..

I placed a small order through Attitude, if it makes it I may throw down another, but for now- this is what Im waiting on:

-x10 Pennywise
-x10 Ace of Spades
-x11 Dream Beaver (bodhi)
-x1 Girl Scout Cookies (bc's)
-x1 Green Crack

The last two are the "good" freebies and I have 3 others I cant remember.

Some strains still on the list: Sour Kush, Blackwater, Grape God, Sunshine Daydream or Superstitious (bodhi), PCK (dna), LA Le Affie (anyone seen this before?) maybe some jilly, but at this point I can cross all my TGA gear down the road....

The girls are doing great, even with the neglect, I must admit, tending to the DEPTH of a 3x3 is a commitment, hard to keep up. Brings me back to a Wide Garden. Trainings taken a hit from not being able to get to the far undergrowth,

GEDC0365.jpg GEDC0361.jpg GEDC0362.jpg GEDC0373.jpg

I did skip out on last weeks res change and gave them a nice 608ppm change last night, AND I did train too long, kinda kicking myself now that stretch has passed.. oh well, live and learn,

GEDC0367.jpg GEDC0369.jpg GEDC0383.jpg GEDC0385.jpg GEDC0386.jpg GEDC0390.jpg

I told myself id get that filter up the next res change, welp, I did it... I finally did it... plugged in my fan, rumbled... and died........... SO I have another shitty little 6" inline I may be busting my ass to swap out for in the meantime, or I may order another Vortex before the 10% deal is up. I did REorient my AT200 back long ways to illuminate the LENGTH of the scrogs

GEDC0374.jpg GEDC0375.jpg (<-- before I moved it, I really liked the two rows of white in the center, if/when I get another 200 I will be HOSING a 3x3 with light... keep those bitches at 32-36" but my point is this panel legitimately covers a solid 3' x 2.5' footprint, really surprising... you can see it in some these pictures where the core saturations' setting.. remember the panel was still oriented "wide-ways")

GEDC0380.jpg GEDC0379.jpg

a 4x3' scrog would rock x2 AT200's,

Send in your votes of what you'd like to see ran next,

Be safe everyone!

Fuck ya I want to see that!

I have been pushing him hard to get 30lenses(60*). That would basically solve everything IMO. Even for the at600 they would be excellent. Let me drop it a hair.

I like the orientation change. That screen is full as shit. I see what you mean on the timing...but still looks great man! And the leaves and plant healthy look perfect too.

My vote is Dream Beaver and/or Pennywise. Dream Beaver might be one of the best names I've heard in a while. The lineage sounds interesting...dirty hippy and appalachia...no clue what those are but I must say, damn, they sound interesting.

You know what... seeing all these great guys around these parts, I may never leave! ha.. Thanks for the words G, congratulations on breaking the lb. mark!

I am waiting right now, the AT will be later but I can almost guarentee it. Yea moving the panel like that for a few days helped kiickstart some of hidden buds.

My like button doesnt work...
lol do you have one!? I wish theyd put it back but with how much shit came with it (separate server..?) im sure its a lot off their back.

speaking of which, has anyone else had issues with a "502 Error" at random times of the day? That one weekend it was down all day, but since then its been hit in miss the page wont load and state the Host 502 error.. sketchy. as. fuck.

My brother puff I have a pm I typed up for yah and lost, Ill get back to you when I can sit down and put together some cognitive skills. I am all over the Pennywise (probably gonna run no matter what..), but the Ace of Spades sounds like it has been a winner with everyone that has ran it, sounds like the purple leaves/green bud pheono is where it's at... and DREAM BEAVER!@ ha... dude, I make it a point to stay away from shitty names, honestly Im naturally offput to even look at em, I want legitimate strains with real lineage and data/description/pheno/genos yada, but seedsman deal made me sit down and go through EACH one of Bodhi's seeds, and sounds like they bred with a few of their personal favorites and branched from there... (appalachia, snow lotus..) so Dream Beaver it was, Mothers Milk, Superstitious, and Sunshine Daydream (most favorite.. sold out) were all up for dibs... im gonna try and come back for the daydream. But after reading the descriptions, Dream Beaver being a perfect example, sounds like the names fit PERFECT. so I am pretty stoked to see what bodhi seeds has to offer...

I may be starting all three... shit..... and I am still narrowing my list of organics, that should be ordered by the end of this week.

Be safe everyone!

Nice monitor!

No links, but I have seen some YT videos using Super Capacitors that could guide anyone looking to assemble

It's straight forward

Sine Wave Inverter plugs into wall to charge the batteries/caps, off grid equipment plugs into opposite side of inverter, then flip a switch to draw down from storage as needed.

Reverse to recharge battery/caps
Links? I'm stuck on envisioning something like a power factor corrector which would not impact any of us residential customers.

Oh and Scotch if you are looking for a vape I would strongly suggest you take a look at the arizer stuff. A buddy of mine has the Extreme Q and I have a Solo. Actually sold my pax afterwards for more than I paid for the solo. LOL Both me and my buddy bought ours through gotvape.com. They have a price match feature on some products and both of those are included. He paid $140 shipped for the extreme and I paid $145 for the Solo. Battery life is pretty good, taste is great, and don't have to clean it other than the glass mouthpiece. Only bad is you can't use it while it's charging with the charger that it comes with. Hits great, you just have to hit it slow and steady.

Thanks for the links skunky and glad you stopped in bruv, hopefully in the midst of all the stress, ppl can still pull something useful from this place, did not used to be like this...

Lights are still out for another 3 hours, but Ill make a second post updating the AT Tent later tonight (43 Days. < 4weeks)

The PCC should be interesting, my friend is bringing down that Fruity Chronic cut this week, 2 SLH in dwc and some rooting clones. I am thinking about putting together my other DIY Progrow/51 "hybrid" for another light source, I have the DIY drywall cab I built for mums if I really run short on room, and a Drying Cab (diy carbon scrubber) I could use too... SO. no excuses, I will do my best to stick through the entire cup.

I have been giddy all week, finally coming to a close on sourcing things and looking to mix it all up tonight/tomorrow. not to mention- I FINALLY got my fucking 730nm's from mo-light or whatever, PITA, but cheap so what can you expect...

Please lend any insight you may have for every thing at hand, obviously the diy is a scrap build but I am thinking about ordering some 660's and drivers to make it a "true" pontoon wannabe. Strips of the old progrow heatsinks- thinking two rows of the drilled holes, and offsetting each Nm's, x2 6" strips on each side of a panel, x3 730/strip, maybe even two?

The mix, hahaha.... someone please be honest with me and tell me how much of this I DIDNT need to buy. I still have alfalfa and kelp from DTE on their way. Had to order all the DTE, but everything else was sourced TG. Is there anything I am missing you would include? I am trying to avoid animal products (is that the definition of vegan? I want to be so Organic, that when Legal Patients come around, someday, I can say it is the most organic thing theyd ever put to there lips. lol. So I am thinking I will leave out the Bone Meal (bought it before I thought about it, but should I use it since I have it?) I am still debating what ratios I am going to run all the amendments, thought about doing the DTE's according to what that link I had posted of them stated (Vegan was 5-6/gillion ft, Oyster was 8-10/gillion ft, so 1:2 kinda deal, completely random numbers so...) or just doing it like this:

6 Cubic Feet (45 Gallon)
*please critique the shit out of this if you feel I am overloading or missing something here*

1/2 Block of Peat (2 cu.ft.)
2x Bags of Castings (30lbs, ~1 cu.ft.)
2x Bags of Ancient Forest (1 cu.ft.)
5x Bags of Vermiculite (40qt./1.34 cu.ft.)
1x Bag of Perlite (20qt./0.36 cu.ft.) - moreso because I fuckin' bought it... I did get a few extra bags of Vermiculite... I get triggy happy.

9 cups Pelleted Azomite
9 cups Ground Azomite (3 cups per cu.ft.)

6 cups Vegan Mix
3 cups Alfalfa Meal
" Oyster Shell
" Greensand
" Kelp Meal (3 cups per cu.ft.)

Hopefully by the time I have to reamend I will have a source for EWC and humus. A big question that came up while I was at the stoor- friend tells me to cook for ~3 months!!! Now, he showed me a recipe similar to super soil... so is that why? Should I be toasting for 3 months to let everything break down? I have no problem waiting, I just need to know. Mixing all this up lets me keep that Happy Frog for seeds and clones in solo cups- I ordered 5 Gal. Smart Pots with handles, I think the only transplanting ill do is from a solo cup.. make sense? Please, I feel like a newb all over again. Fuck what am I talking about, were all newbs in some sense or another. If I am missing something that would help my endeavors please shout out. facemasks, mortar, uhhh watering... what do you use?

Also nabbed up a Cytoplus packet from BioAg

GEDC0323.jpg

heres my stash of chinese materials to blow up, thought about pulling some whites or mono blues off for mixing the "pontoons." (supra's remark of the lower nm blue increasing potency really got me thinking too..)

Speaking of which, I have been seeing a LOT of indagro lights up for sale lately, how bad is the degradation of the bulb...? Im not planning to place in the cup, and that color sure is perty....

GEDC0315.jpg GEDC0314.jpg GEDC0317.jpg

I am so excited for the 730.... lol. tellin yah, the tech is half the fun... the shops around here eye's start to open real wide and glaze over when I start talking about light... guy is actually bringing in HIS diy pontoon to the shop tomorrow to show me, told em id bring up one of my panels and meter again, set some shit straight... HA!

Big question I have about the heasinks, the yellow layer, do I NEED to stay on this? wtf is it? Just a layer for pcb? Like my monster of a solder gun?? doesnt matter how big the gun is, doesnt mean shit if you do not know how to use it. lol.

Annnnnd the globes, when I was out get more vermi- I stopped by HD and stocked up on the CREE globes (for $9.67 a pop) kablam! every bulb that was able to be replaced, is replaced. We have a few over counter fluro's and candle style bulbs I probably wont piss with, but I do think I am gonna go back for the "Soft White" (2700k) BR30 CREEs, they were down to $13.~~ from 19 and my garage's work area would love that, no warm up time... ahhhhh! I did make sure to score +1 for playing around with the meter vs. this cool looking Philips bulb, little bit more directional, I would like to see what kind of difference that makes, being theyre both rated for 800 lumens, 60w equiv., and draw within a watt of each other but the Philips is using a tad more... more emitters?

GEDC0318.jpg

I think that is all I got right now... let me know what you guys think I should do with that soil, and Ill see you later, dont get your hopes up I fucked up training too long. HA

Not a lot to say, I mess with something new every round and it seems to always be a niiice learning experience, but temps, power outages, and my slack on the res changes didnt help. O well, Im sure it will get me through to next harvest.

GEDC0329.jpg

^ still missing x1 bag of AF and EWC (1cu.ft.), and I have not decided whether I am going to use the perlite, pretty fluffy right now. Did 4 cups Vegan, 3 Oyster, 3 Greensand, 18 Azomite, and 5 bags (40qt.) verm.

Take care everyone

Nice soil mix! I have been trying to source good EWC too. Tried making my own but I need a lot more than what I have been making. I agree with leaving out the bone meal. I would have no objection if I knew it was from organically fed, lived and died as naturally as possible animals. But I do use other animal products. Here is my mix, I let it cook 1-2 months. Maybe 3 is better but I have not tried because I need a 100L batch ready every month.

50 liters reused soil
500ml compost
500ml EWC
200ml organic chicken manure
50ml indo guano
50ml kelp meal
50ml azomite/glacial rock dust
50ml raw humates

recently started adding this but havent seen the results yet:
sprinkle of myko during transplant
sprinkle of humic acids
sprinkle of AGsil 16H
50ml alfalfa meal organic
50ml greensand

Thank you supra, its kindve an obsession to get new stuff going... always wanting to expand and learn a little bit, but I am not doing anything beyond what I have seen around here. I remember back when I was just a wee lad :eyeroll: doing all my research, and just googling the key words to what I wanted... and ever time. Rollitup, rollitup, yea... grass city has some great Hydro info, most of that was there, but grow design, leds... ha. Everything came back here, eventually I said fuck it and stuck around... lol. had some cal trouble after my RO and became a member and sniffed out the help of our brother Dawg.. he, psu, and Fly were very welcoming.. Cool group of ppl. So thank YOU, and Psuagro, Hyroot, Fly, Dawg, Puff, G, I do hope Fran is doing alright.. Chroni, Bumping where ever he's at.. and the rest of you should know. I would be completely lost in the soil game if RIU didn't exist.

Goin up to grab my last bags of Humus and EWC then its in the cans to cook for another round.

Thanks for the reassurance 'root- after seeing consistently perty green leaves hanging off yo' trees... shows how much we DONT need that many nutes in DWC, next round I am going to try and mimic that toying around with the ppms- thinking about topping out at 500ppm (so in weeks of 12/12 w/ cal/mag the base nutes would be ~350) The Verm is aeration my friend, I wish I had some vermicompost... store bought shit for now, is there a brand that is better than the next? I only need another cu.ft. (30lbs)

Does my mix look to airy to anyone? Im worrying I may not need to add the perlite or anymore vermiculite after the other cu.ft. (or should I stick with equal parts..?) Ever too much drainage?

(supe your picture keeps making me laught, I kept thinking how cool and legitimately "camo'd out" the dirt looked when I sprinkled everything in. too fun)

I think your mix is solid scotch, yeah letting cook is key ===three months is because of the cold environment; summer way faster turn around................I was eyeing up one of those electric cement mixers at home depot!! just a dream for now though:)

Only amendments I might add would be the agsil 16h, and bioag fulpower(best humic on the market)......and I really dislike adding any feather/blood meal

^^^ nice grow btw

hyroot

Well-Known Member
Adding humic bio ag is pointless if you have ewc and compost / humus. Its the same thing.

for me I'm doing the vegan mix, kelp meal, neem meal, rock dust. Then ewc. Seed sprout teas and compost teas.

it depends how cold, i had my most recent batch sitting outside for less than a month and its snowing outside right now and this morning i used some and I could see the white fuzz on it, I really dont think you have to wait 3 months also if you are going to veg them the soil will still cook in the tent.

Hah yea it is surprising that I felt compelled to take a picture of the dirt and share it. That is a good question about drainage. I use buckets with only one tiny little of drain hole, the idea being I try not overwater and it reduces humidity and conserves nutrient. So I guess the amount of aeration you need could depend on what you are growing in and your watering style. When I first made my soil mix I got perlite and pumice from the Root Organic but I added granular diatomaceous earth which I got from Napa and Walmart sometimes sells it as cat litter in bags for 99 cents.

I agree with avoiding feather meal. I was using Epsoma bio tone for awhile (now I question the organic-ness of Epsoma) and it has feather meal which is a slow release nitrogen. I am not sure if it is strong enough to interfere with the plants finishing on time and causing foxtailing.

Good call hyroot I forgot to mention neem meal is in my mix too. It is expensive and I don't use much but I got a decent deal from KIS organics. Coot was big on soluble humic/fulvic wasnt he? That is why I bought it but I use it extremely sparingly.
